Second run of VRP is in the can, literally. Wow! Guess I won’t be running even 2500 miles /3 months on a filter. In hindsight, I can only imagine how nasty was the first filter I ran on VRP to longer miles (I only recently got a filter cutter).

I think I’ll be on monthly filter swaps until I see cut filters saying I don’t need to swap them so frequently.

Anything in dome end of can? I’m impressed. What filter went on?

Does it burn any oil?
Oddly enough, no. Despite this engine being crazy varnished and dirty, it’s never really had any consumption in the 19 years I’ve owned and cared for it. If it did, I’d be the only one to see it since it’s literally had nobody but me pull the dipstick in nearly two decades.

She is a keeper. No reason to buy new. Great job!

Oil and filter did its job very well.

Dome end was squeaky clean. All the stuff is staying in the media.

B7318 Baldwin went on since I’m going to be running such short filter intervals. It’s low on media area but high on efficiency— 9 micron nominal, 27 absolute IIRC.
So I yanked the Baldwin at 800 miles.

Floaties everywhere, the Baldwin media isn’t retaining. Swapped on a BOSS to retain the big stuff better.

I’ve been doing monthly filter changes with VRP. No carbon in the media though.
This is after a HPL 10w-20 run that left the nastiest smelling used oil I’ve ever seen. I didn’t cut the filter though.😑
The wife’s car didn’t get any HPL and HAS had carbon in the filter media.
Just my observations.
