Thanks guys! Wait until Winter, that is when MMO really shines. Sorry panthermike where you live you have 2 seasons I'm told. Hot, and hotter! LOL So you might not notice the winter benefits of MMO.

I am not the best on this; but, MMO get some killer gain in MPG...I have kept track of my MPG since I bought it..I gain about 2+ MPG with use MMO at 4oz per 10 gal..My wifes auto is less..You need to play with the ratios.

That is all I need.

I run nothing but Shell V Power in the hopes it would save me from the expense of fuel adds. I am planning on doing a Seafoam through the brake booster line in a few K miles and will start after that on the MMO I think.

If you guys are seeing cleaner exhaust tips and theorizing its the MMO cleaning up that along with the cats wouldnt it be safe to say it will clean the intake mani and prevent the sludging issue on the exhaust valves, etc? Obviuosly if it is cleaning up the cats and exhaust tips it would have to be surviving the combustion process in part right?

I've seen the exhaust pipe clean up nicely. I've fooled around by missing adding MMO for a few tanks and the tail pipe gets the blackish color again.

After a good Seafoam treatment, I think you'd be barking up the right tree with the addition of MMO to the gas. Seems this 80+ year old product is gaining some popularity on this board.

What is really nice is no one from Turtle Wax is here pushing the product. These appear to be solid testimonials by average car enthusiasts interested in keeping their cars running well and saving some gas too!

The V-Power premium ad pack may or may not be enough depending on where you live. After seeing how additives can clean my tail pipes I like to scan tail pipes in parking lots to see how others fare without special care.

Down south where it warm all the time parking lot scans reveal that a good percentage of tail pipes are clean. I know of one southern vehicle with 100K+ miles on non premium gas and no extra additives and the tail pipe is spotless. Some tail pipes will be dirty simply because the engines are poorly maintained.

Up north where it is cold part of the year most tail pipes have soot. Other than my cars and a handful of new cars that are both well tuned and haven't seen a winter it is a challenge to find tail pipes without soot. I know of a northern car that had soot when it was only two months old. It is not unusual to find entire rows of 20+ cars with soot or oil scum.

All engines produce carbon when cold. In one engine I run additives in all the time I put in a new set of plugs. The car was driven 4 miles. I pulled the plugs and they had a thin film of carbon. I've pulled the same plugs many times after longer trips and they were clean. Engines run cold for longer during the winter and may not burn clean even at full temperature which leads to an increase in carbon over the winter and a decrease over the summer. Things are good so long as the decrease matches the increase.

Continuously running a premium fuel with the extra ad pack may be enough to recover from the cold months but I find that rolling my own works every time while depending on the gas company is a luck shot that the untrained around me are loosing.

LOL, yes you are right! Kidding, actually in the winter time, it's about perfect, lots of 70's. But that season is very short indeed.

I will keep on updating for sure.

I must say I was sad to discontinue my use of MMO in my diesel, I wanted to really check and see if my mileage was better or I was just fooling myself..
So I ran without MMO and Power Service for an entire oil change, misc driving conditons with avg numbers...Added PS next oil change and seemed to pick up slightly and motor ran and started slightly smoother (again it may be a physcological thing), finished oil change last weekend and added my 400:1 PS & MMO and my mileage was 22-25 (depending on traffic and mph).
I do find that I feel better about mileage, my numbers do look better on the overhead and by hand calculations..I do notice smoother starting and running and I like the sweet smell from the exhaust..Nothing againt Lucas or any of te others but I will be staying with my MMO / PS mixture for as long as I can.

I pulled over, added enough MMO to the fuel to bring it to a 570:1 ratio (just wanted to do something between the typical 500:1 and 640:1 ratios I did with TC-W3) then shook the car around to mix in in, and also swerved around like a drunk on a back road to also aid in the mixing.

I drove back to my starting point, turned around and heading in the original direction again on the same stretch of road at the same speed, traveling the same distance saw an average of 27.9mpg

I didn't repeat the test because it was about 3AM and I was tired, and didn't want to burn up $10 worth of gas just for the heck of it.

What was the ratio of Jack Daniels in your belly?

After close to 2 decades of using an Inverse Oiler in my 88 E-150 I disconnected it today
frown.gif
I was having some difficulty calibrating the drip rate. It was feeding too much MMO to the engine, and I was able to quickly notice it, by a slight lack in power. I popped the hood and the rate was twice what it should be, and I can no longer adjust the rate. I guess after all those years of service the Inverse Oiler needs a rebuild. Somewhere in a box I have another one, but for now I will be adding MMO to the gas tank instead, until I have the time to rebuild this one or find the other.

Ok, this weekend I want to add MMO to the crankcase of my GF's 97 Camry 4 cyl as I'm changing the oil in about 1,000 miles.

It takes 3.8 Qts oil.

Should I add a Pint, or how much less?

11.gif

A follow-up!

I put a Pint of MMO in the 3.8 Qt sump and 1.5 ounces of MMO in 6 gallons left in the tank. She ran the tank close to empty.

I also brought the tire pressure up from ~30 psi to 38 psi.

She said she is using 1 gallon less gas in a tank. So, she puts in about 10 gallons, so that is about a 10% increase in gas mileage.

She also said enthusiastically it has a lot more power, especially from a stop. She said it used to start off slow from a stop, now it is way more peppier!

Now a follow-up from me:
grin2.gif

I drove this Camry 240 miles this weekend.

The engine is way more smoother reving and lots more power than when I drove it before the MMO treatments in the gas and oil.

I was suprised - as MMO in my GMC truck had not made hardly any difference. So, my truck's engine must be quite clean!

My (Asian) GF is now very happy, but she's always happy!

I put another 3 oz. in 10 gallons yesterday.

Next weekend, I'll change out the Havoline (from my 2 year old stash) and MMO w/WIX oil filter to Pennzoil YB & a Wix. Should do a UOA...

Nice to read about some more positive results. Your GMC truck must be well maintained. Not everyone sees fantastic results, you can't fix something that has nothing wrong with it. OTOH- adding MMO to the gas in the GMC truck, and a pint to the oil for a 1000 miles before your spring OC won't hurt. It will get the junk that might have accumulated during the year, especially during the winter months out and keep it clean! JMO

I hope this isn't a dumb question but what does MMO stand for?

I googled it and was taken to this site where people don't break it down.

Oh, now I see what MMO is - Marvel Mystery Oil. Some of the abbreviations can be a puzzle to figure out to a newbie.

Lurch,

No worries... In a few months you will come to understand what they all mean. PM me if you ever need to know something... I don't mind answering it.

Also, this car has the 3spd auto. I'm happy so far, car is running well. MPG wasn't great, but as I said, plenty of city driving with some near WOT's. Also, A/C is on constantly in this PHX heat. For a 3spd auto not bad, but it can do better I know :) Best i've ever recorded to date is 35.2mpg, this was all highway some hills though and was during an ARX clean phase.

I will post after the second tank of gas w/ the MMO, I added 3oz. this time.

Tank #2: Car is running nice and smooth. Also returned 31.8mpg, an improvement of 3.75mpg, the conditions were nearly identical. Could be a coincidence but i'm going to keep logging the MPG's and see what happens.

I'm very pleased none the less, MMO

Many will say it's a coincidence, but I know a lot of anal people that keep some pretty impressive logs and have noticed similar improvements. Too many coincidences for me.

Yup, I have kept MPG on my cars since new. SOme are over 14 years old...

In the end certain product help MPG..MMO is one...131 is close #2 but higher in price.
