LSJr new Motor Oil Geek: Techron and Top Tier

He must have read the thread for the last video and stuck to something less controversial this time 🤪
7 minutes and 20 second Video, guess since nobody has posted a Cliff Notes Version, I will watch it. He had another Fuel Video awhile back that was 15 minutes long. It would be nice if LSJr could make his videos where he is only talking between 3 and 5 minutes long.

Soooo, Where does that leave those of us with direct injected engines?
We've already determined that fuel doesn't get to the intake valves, right?

So is there a problem that top tier fuel will fix (or even the bottle of additive)?
And if so, how does top tier fuel get additives get to those intake valves?

He mentioned how keeping injectors clean reduces oil dilution …

Keeps injectors & combustion cleaner burning?

But the video is talking about intake valve deposits.
I'm wondering how how fuel additives get to that portion of the engine if it's direct injected.
That was the evolution of Top Tier - the dilution comment was related to poor injection patterns causing fuel wash …

Oh, I see. so no impact on those intake valves in DI engines.
Seems like half the "value" of this additive just dissapeared.

If it's keeping the injectors cleaner it is going to provide better/cleaner combustion & the valves will reap those rewards by staying cleaner. In short... use Top Tier even in your DI.

Yes, little value there …
I have owned GDI’s over a decade and up to 137k without cleaning valves.
I have cured rough idle several times with PEA and to me it’s worth grabbing on sale and using before an oil change …
My Jeep is port injection - so likely gets more from it …
