LS-1 Florida Oil Suggestion.....

Sorry if this has been posted and beaten to death before, but I am new to the forum.

I have an 00' WS6 with an LS-1 which has 77K miles on it. I just put in M1 10W-30 as Walmart had NOTHING else in 5 quart jug!

What is the best brand, weight, and miles you would suggest using?

I put 350 - 400 miles per week on the car, mostly on the interstate at 75 - 85 mph.

Never goes below 30F (or least rarely), lots of time at 90 - 95F.

I am very happy with the way my Heads & Cam LS1 has been running on M1 5W-40 T&SUV. My best used oil results have come from heavy 30W to low 40W oils.

I'm in Miami, I use Delo 15-40, change every 4 months. Look it up on the virgin oil analysis thread (VOA). Has tons of anti wear agents (moly, phosphorus, zinc) and cleaners (calcium, mag, boron). Compare it to any synth (except redline)and Delo numbers are much higher.

Any thick 30wt or 5w-40 seems to do well as Ryan said. I think the new M1 SUV 5w-30 would be a great choice also.

This is excellent advice. GC, Redline, M1 5-40 would all be excellent choices.
