First of all, you drive BMW. That means when you search for advice, search on European vehicle forum. It will be more straightforward.
Second, your vehicle is recommended for LL17FE approval (forget recommended for, meets, exceeds, oil has to be approved).
Third, that engine can run and it is designed to run on heavy oils such as 0W40, 5W40 etc. It is designed with BMW LL01 and LL04 specifications in mind, but for some markets like the US it is recommended for 0W20 oil due to CAFE requirements.

So, look at your manual. What does it say?
Also, do you care about warranty? If not, go to first Wal Mart and get Castrol Edge 0W40 or Mobil1 0W40. AAP has sale always, you can get Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5W40 5qt for $33 with filter.
If you care about warranty, go to first BMW and get BMW TPT 0W20, or if LL01FE is allowed, you can get BMW TPT 0W30.
Also, ambient temperature is irrelevant. Regardless of what oil you use, what oil coolers you install etc. BMW thermostats are electric and they will always maintain same oil temperature.

Why not find oil that meets MB 229.5 / A3/B4 ?
You'll have good film strength while also having advantage of <10% NOACK & a bunch of other parameters.
