Lets talk about new vehicles

Nobody's talking about Buick SUVs. Are they no good? I sat in the Enclave at an auto show and thought the interior was quite nice. With that said, I hate the name.

Buick really rips when you go up the trim ladder though.
Like $14K to go up one wrung- nuts- does look nice and I have looked at these several years ago
Not many on the lots

My beef with GM vehicles is- will my AC work after two years?
I have owned them for decades … no AC ever failed (Texas) …
last one traded was Cruze at 145k and AC was blowing cold …
Our Tahoe does not have an AC … more like an HVAC system

Last AC problem was 2015 Explorer leaked refrigerant

I have had several go out
Once had a new Olds with 7k miles go out. Late model Silverados too.
Of course my brothers Cruze is working fine and its a beater

I'm also in the market for a new car. Some of my priorities differ from yours but there is also some overlap. At this point I have it narrowed down to a Subaru Outback, probably an XT, or a Honda Passport. I want a modicum of off-road/dirt road capability and those two fit that bill well. Subaru has a proven AWD system. The Passport has a very good system and a solid, well proven NA engine. Gas mileage isn't great though. Both of these are really nice for long road trips.
The Outback has a much more comfortable ride than the Forester or Crosstrek. My son and I test drove all 3 and the Outback was definitely the best. He bought a 2020 Premium model which has the 2.5 NA engine and the power isn't impressive but it's adequate. He loves it, but he's a diehard Subaru guy. They also have 0% interest if you plan to finance.
If I were you I would list the things you mentioned in your first post in order of priority or give them a rating based on their importance to you. That might make it a little easier to narrow it down. Good luck.

Thank you and good luck to you as well.
I really can't decipher the modern Subaru
I agree on the Outback and the prices are good
What do you think about reliability of the Outback today- not years past?
