Lets talk about new vehicles

Having not driven the Rogue nor the Outlander myself, I can't speak from experience, but the 181 HP / 181 lb-ft figure just sounds barely adequate, but who knows, maybe it is?

C&D says "Although the Outlander's acceleration times are competitive with other compact crossovers, it feels less responsive and lazier at highway speeds, which is exacerbated by its gearless transmission."

I understand not wanting a turbo. I've been trying to avoid one myself, although it's becoming harder and harder to do this these days.

Since I find the Outlander's front end styling vomit inducing, I prefer Kia's styling instead, but it's all certainly very subjective.

The Kia is quite a bit more expensive though if you option it with the turbo engine, AWD, and the digital cluster, so I'm not even sure why that Canadian couple decided to compare them.

My criteria is quietness and comfort.
I drove the 2L Mitsubishi sports for 7 years and they were adequate. Long drives and good mpg and a great warranty and unlike most here I am happy with the looks of the Outlander. I prefer the truck like overall look and so im not put off by any of that.

Sounds like the cx5 turbo might be more your style.

Did you ever test drive an outback? Not looking back at 66.6 pages.

outback has great highway ride, good visibility. and plenty of +'s

while I like people to keep a thread going and not posting 5 threads on same issue/topic, you might really want to consider a new thread with what you narrowed it down to.

The other day my neighbor called me to go out with him and the other neighbor to breakfast.
They are 75-80 years old.
Ron the driver is talking and we are in his late model E Class.
He starts arguing a point to his buddy in the passenger seat... accidentally lets the wheel fly out of his hands
and sends us off into the oncoming traffic- three cars and a truck and has to hit the far shoulder to avoid a catastrophe

Once it is over he punches it to get back over in the correct lane and then he said this..
" That is why I buy Mercedes, for situations like that"

From the back seat you can hear me say...
( Hey Ron, can you pull over to the shoulder? ) Why Jim? So I can slap some sense into you,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,lol

My neighbor bought a Kia Soul
Top trim model to save his Mercedes. Says it has no power though. He still loves it though.

Ugly is correct. Old style doesn’t bother me I’m old school anyway if they still have keys that would be one plus 😃.
I can't stand the words-phrases below.

Soft touch materials
Dated styling...i just used it.
Android Auto
Apple car play
Infotainment
Cvt 8 speed simulated gears
Amongst many others
