Having not driven the Rogue nor the Outlander myself, I can't speak from experience, but the 181 HP / 181 lb-ft figure just sounds barely adequate, but who knows, maybe it is?
C&D says "Although the Outlander's acceleration times are competitive with other compact crossovers, it feels less responsive and lazier at highway speeds, which is exacerbated by its gearless transmission."
I understand not wanting a turbo. I've been trying to avoid one myself, although it's becoming harder and harder to do this these days.
Since I find the Outlander's front end styling vomit inducing, I prefer Kia's styling instead, but it's all certainly very subjective.
The Kia is quite a bit more expensive though if you option it with the turbo engine, AWD, and the digital cluster, so I'm not even sure why that Canadian couple decided to compare them.![]()
My criteria is quietness and comfort.
I drove the 2L Mitsubishi sports for 7 years and they were adequate. Long drives and good mpg and a great warranty and unlike most here I am happy with the looks of the Outlander. I prefer the truck like overall look and so im not put off by any of that.
Sounds like the cx5 turbo might be more your style.
