Lets talk about new vehicles

Not much to say. Not for general consumption; Its not a Highway vehicle. It's all over the place.

Made by a Mahindra Tractor joint venture Chennai, India. Can be bought for under $17K in 4WD auto. BIG Ford Cash back.
Has an advanced Mazda/Ford 2.0L with 166 D.I. HP. Very Racy and good sounding. Short Stroke engine. Mechanical bucket DOHC.
6 Speed planetary transmission with killer short gearing ( 2537 lb-ft torque in first gear, 1548 in second ! ) AWD with a real, rear IRS with cast lower control arms. 4 wheel disc brakes, a mechanical handbrake (thankfully), beautiful cast aluminum rims on the base model, classy well finished interior with reasonably comfortable seats. A surprisingly excellent sounding 6 speaker Stereo on the FM band. Satellite WIFI on the base trim. Of course PW, PDL, Tilt wheel and AC. Rear wiper and old fashioned far left and right pivoting wipers that come together and cross in the windscreen center to make that "M" shaped swipe. Hidden release rear side swinging cargo hatch. BIG diameter exhaust with stainless shorty headers.
Abysmal fuel mileage of about 23-24 around town. Slippery, hard, and small steering wheel. Bridgestone Ecopia tires
A bit Noisy in odd ways. No spare tire.

I may have alignment looked at. That may fix the squirrelyness. I'll peruse the readout and proceed if necessary,
with minimal to moderate rear toe in and Minimal Front toe in.
Great write up-thanks

This is me in the 60's ( for my fan base meaning me only-lol)
I grew up in some dump in Newport Delaware and by 1967 we moved to nowhere-ville Maryland.
My dad figured he could beat us more in the country and nobody would hear the screams.
I was the youngest of three boys. I think new cars became my fetish because I often dreamed of escaping my oppression...lol

Later that day I was beaten for throwing that bogus food all over. I wasn't as lucky as @AutoMechanic

You are crazy Jim lol. At least you had decent new cars back then and not loaded down with electronics like those kids today have to have. What type of food was it?

That was a Delaware picture- we were low rent scum....lol
Dad got lucky- a hard working guy- He sold that place to " The Kirby Vacuum Company" and with it 3 other lots...
He scored big and then we moved in 67...

What kind of food???? I can't remember what I ate 2 hours ago :p:p:p:love:

Haha funny thing Jim. My dad had an abandoned Toyota van it was a 80 something model and this Kirby vacuum sales guy showed up asking if he would sell it my dad said no. The next day he sent his assistant and my dad said well tell him if he gives me a vacuum I’ll let him have it if he really wants it. A couple hours later my dad had a vacuum and the guy had the van and drove it back to wherever and said the old gas made it have a funny noise. Well the noise never went away and my dad never seen the van again after the noise complaints lol 😂. Yeah I’m lucky to remember what happened a few days ago lol.

I put this together for my graduation way back in the day
I think it was a 65-66??? Olds 98??? Maybe 88- it has been decades...
Full power-lol
I did not attend graduation because that school was loser-ville.
Neither did my GF Susan who later dumped me for an ex con because I- nevermind...
She did come back around again....

We were turfing the school grounds during the graduation and later used it for bridge jumping.
That was my 73 Impala in the background.

You graduated at 10 years old??

The Kia Forte....
When that car first came out their was a young guy on the Kia forum every day talking smack about his. I think it was his first car.

Like I got cut off by a E class today because he was jealous of my Kia.
He was totally serious. Everybody was jealous of his new Kia...lol

There was a guy at work with a car he bought new a couple of years ago. Always gleaming and parked way in the back across spots like it was a Ferrari or something. It was a Chevy Cruze.

It was a nice bright red though.

I'm a couple pages behind, but if Toyota ever builds an attractive vehicle you'll know it was entirely by accident.

Last paragraph was awesome...lol

I bought a 2006 Honda Element AWD brand new. Beautiful maroon color. If you are a big bloke...that thing was roomy. I kept it 3 years traded it in a a 09 Challenger RT and got a mint for it..

On the interstate it was noisy and sucked gas. The doors in real life didn't work so well. But as a rural cruiser it was okay.
Now it was a box and frumpy but looks really don't bother me except I wouldn't stoop so low to own a AMC Pacer...lol

Word!!

The Cordoba story.
I owned that why I was still in school. I worked all kinds of jobs and one night my older brother had a hot date and borrowed it. Got drunk and wrecked it then to the tune of $4000.
I got it fixed and sold it to my older brother and he kept torturing it for years...
