Lets talk about new vehicles

I hit just over 60 mpg this AM in my Maverick over a 12 mile drive. I have a Buddy with one that just hit 30k miles but he doesn't get the mpg I do. He said his Contis
still look new with plenty of miles left on them.
I was thinking about my mpgs and why I get better than most. I travel hilly terrain back roads with very good and smooth roads and the secret is vary few of my travels are along open fields. Usually through wooded areas with high banks thus little to no wind.
Also I travel Usually north and south and weirdly the main roads are usually east to west with open fields and unprotected from wind.
Also I have owned four hybrids but will say the Maverick requires no effort or tricks...it just gets great mpgs even in the cold and snow.

I suspect if I take it to Florida and go interstate 95 I will be forced to go 80 mph and I suspect that will put me in the 35 to 40 mpgs or possibly less.
I have the perfect roads for a hybrid and engine breaking in and I'm just shy of Fords 1000 mile break in.

My buddies early Maverick clicks after he turns if off but he doesn't have a mob of angry raccoons under the hood like I do.🤔

Mine doesn't click at all.

Well that’s disappointing for sure. But not surprising, I have more money in my checking account the day before payday than VW spent on advertising the Arteon here.

Makes them even more special now. 😎
We figured it was dead and they ran the price up too. They were crazy expensive this year.

They were already pushing Audi territory but were much better optioned. An Audi with similar equipment was a a lot more.
Looking back I stole mine with your help even during cv19 and I got $6500 off the top instantly.
How??? I don’t think VW in that area had the buyers...
Here VW became the sub $23k dealer in that period of time...things have changed in just 3 years.
Now they are selling $50k + vehicles daily...

No, I don’t have the privilege of knowing them, I just get to watch them drive by on the way to the upper crust neighborhoods, you know, like yours. 🤣😛
Wow dude...this coming from the green hornet driver...just wow dude 😳

Just in......Maverick

Everyone is piling in to Palisade / Atlas / whatever. The OEM's are happy to please by selilng $50K cars that cost not much more than a sedan to build. When people figure out there is a war in the middle east and global oil prices shoot up, there will be a million reporters on TV saying the OEM's don't build small cars anymore and its their fault somehow.

On a happier note 📝
Maverick was iced to the hilt this morning. Remote start only 5 minutes and all windows defrosted like nothing. Crazy good Hvac in the Maverick..
My lovely VW takes forever...
Sorry @KCJeep

My last two VW's were pretty good, although the VR6 Passat was way ahead of the Jetta's little 1.4. Worst warm up vehicle I've ever dealt with was a Subura Forester we had at work. Just awful.

The auto high beams are the most accurate I have had. Far better than Mitsubishi. I use that feature all the time. Auto hold is great too.
It spoils you...
