I think another part of it is no waiting, other than the pandemic. I would see people at work say well I've got to get a new car my lease is up and somehow the new car is cheaper than the last yet higher in the model line. I never wanted to know the details because frankly I found it far fetched. But since 2020, I have heard the same people say they got crushed. There are going to be times in life, when, imho, one cannot get what one wants. Might even have to downgrade, or hold on to what one has.Like VW today...
It used to be a group of enthusiast. Hard core...
Now it seems they don't know the heritage but only that the Jetta was the least expensive car to get. A mass consumer ride.
I like them but here the VW enthusiast are gone.
I do like Porsche here because nobody cares... nobody bothers you. But by a Corvette and the crowds swarm...
If I was in the market for a car the Accord would work because it is actually cheap these days..Really.
Yup and they are discounting them too. I had a lady friend that freaked out over my 2013 Sport because she grew up with Accords.I just looked, they are cheap. I’m shocked. No wonder I have already been seeing them.
Between the price point and competitors abandonment of sedans they are going to clean up on those.
The back gives off a Maserati look. That color is my Ford Truck color. Had several in that color. Always looks good.
I looked into a crown too but it was too early. Not many around then.
My dealer is 35 to 40 miles away too but I'm not real close to many dealers here. But with a 4/50k year bumper to bumper warranty and 30k maintenance I am not too worried but I get it.I was really attracted to the styling and the color of the car overall, I didn’t find anything about it that put me off. Well, I say that, but the 0W8 sticker under the hood was still a little off putting. I knew going in to look at it that they were going to be shipped with 0W8, but that’s not going to scare me off of it if my Wife ends up picking one of these.
The interior was nice as well, all of the controls were designed in a way to be easily accessible, the seats were comfortable,..I was just impressed with the whole thing.
I wish that we had a VW dealer close by, I really love the Arteon and my Wife likes the look of them as well. Unfortunately, the closest VW dealerships are 55 miles to the east and the other is about the same to the west. I like to have a servicing dealer a little closer for any warranty issues that may pop up initially.
There’s a VW dealer 85 miles away in Fayetteville that has one loaded exactly like she would want, it’s a beautiful car.

I definitely get wanting easy dealer access, in fact that’s what eventually turned me away from Alfa Romeo, but in my experience warranty service needs on a new VW will be minimal. Arteon is an exceptional car, the Accord would just be another bleeting sheep by comparison, not that there’s anything wrong with that, different strokes for different folks.
That's a pretty car.
You're probably right about the VW needing minimal service needs for a warranty claim, but you never know. It's funny that you mentioned Alfa Romeo, my wife really took a liking to the Alfa Romeo Giulia that we saw at the dealership in Benton, Ar. (~80 miles away) They're heavily discounted as nobody is buying them, but like you, that distance to an Alfa dealer really turned me off. If it wasn't for worrying about having warranty work performed and the logistics of getting it there, it wouldn't matter at all.
Fortunately, she and I both really like the Crown and the dealer is about 4 miles from my house. I also happen to know a lot of the guys at the dealership, so that helps a little. We haven't made a decision since we have some time, but the Toyota Crown is at the top of a short list right now. With all of that said, you know how women are, it all may change tomorrow.![]()

Looks fabooStill have not seen another green one. Tint guy does a lot of cars, some pretty exotic but he said it was the first green Mustang he’s seen also.
That green looks good.Spent the day getting the Mustang tinted. Never tinted before the Jetta but once you have there is no going back.
