Pulling into Oxford Mitsubishi now.
Going to talk to the gm about the new Outlander. I have purchased 8 cars from his dealership...multi dealer.
Outlander with budget of up to $55K? Seriously?
This vehicle is such an ugly goat and one of the lowest rates SUV's in so many categories.
You can do better than this.

I posted on here several months ago.
The Passport does get worse mpg for various reasons..geared to be more sporty. The AWD pilot got accord like mpg
Right on that is good info. FWIW, I am happy you started this thread. In the next year or two I will be looking for a small crossover. I'm not too concerned with mileage because I live in a state where the gas prices are dirt cheap. At least if you don't add the taxes!!

All joking aside I was thinking of the Passport because of how reliable and powerful they are.

Drove a GC limited x
If you want to hear my unbiased thoughts let me know. Pics below

Thank you.
The Passport had some teething pains early on. Im sure they got those corrected.

One could argue that asking the collective hive mind that is BITOG... for better or worse...for ideas isn’t a bad place to start though, especially if you’re open to trying something you’d otherwise never think of yourself.
If it helps narrow down hundreds, to say a dozen, then choose 1 from there. I like this logic, as the vehicle choices are overwhelming. My Boss, and I, have been looking at vehicles, as he wants a new car. It really is overwhelming once a person begins looking. Just pulling into a car dealership, it is utterly staggering to see how many vehicles are on each lot. Since I do all the driving, I get some say, but not a lot.

Agreed and the con of getting you into the dealership is to put you in one car and sell it to you.
I don't waste their time. I told him what my goal was and I was just looking. He said fine- lets take this for a spin.
These days you can't settle unless you drive what you think you may like- well said Breanna.

We have both an Acadia and a passport. I drive the passport and came from an 18 accord 2.0t. I miss the accord, but the passport is a great vehicle. Quiet, powerful, great in the snow, and plenty of room. The kinks have been worked out and driven reasonably, it gets decent mpg for what it is. The j series is proven and the vehicle moves excellently for its size. My wife loves it.

the Acadia is a good vehicle too. We have a 19 so it’s a 6 speed. The transmission is kind of lazy. Engine is great. Powerful enough and quiet. It doesn’t do much better on gas than the passport. My wife isn’t easy on vehicles and we have enjoyed a pleasant 20k miles trouble free. Lease is up next year and we may get another, though she likes the pilot a lot. The gmc awd system is not nearly as good as the Honda system.
Both great cars and I’d be happy driving either daily.
I looked at a variety of vehicles before settling on the passport. It’s a solid package and should hold up well.

Great info. The Acadia gets trashed as well- everything does. I like the AT4 above.
The Pilot was great but like a Van- The Passport is very responsive and far more sporting.
I had a few Accords and like the Hybrid because it is port injected

My wife just bought an Edge and honestly I'm amazed the thing is a Ford. Extremely nice, quiet and comfy. Lots of clever features. I am having troubles with the 50,000 way power seat though, can't find the sweet spot.

No idea on reliability yet but I'm fairly certain my out of pocket cost to keep it on the road will be less than the Tiguan I was trying to get her into, so I'll live with it easy enough. It's better suited to pulling the boat than a Tiggy would have been anyway.

Some here do not understand a few things.
I could go far above my set price limit but I have been there
I prefer more modest priced cars so I don't have to worry where I park them and dings and dents.
I take great care of my vehicles but no longer want to worry about them.
I freak over little things and I can blow it off if it isn't a real expensive car.

What good is going away worrying if you care will be stolen or damaged
Some of the best trip cars I ever had were basic rides. So that is where the Mitsu, Altima, Sentra, and some of those
cars come into play. Appliances maybe but they still get you there.

A buddy of mine today told me that most cars won't cause me too much pain as I take care of my stuff.
And I do... That can be a trigger too however.

They are nice but very few on the lots here-ever
I think we have the same issue- on Fords I can't find the sweet spot- I really can't.
Squirm to the point I get frustrated-lol
