I choose 3,000 OCI's with quality dino oil because of the VERY short trips to work, city driving, Michigan temp extremes, yada, yada, yada.

Is LC primarily for those who do longer OCIs (oxidation) or will it be a benefit under my circumstances? Why?

Also, will using LC cancel out the need to use Auto-Rx?

Thank you.

doitmyself,

LC will be helpful for you and using LC as suggested you should never need another cleaner. LC does more than keep oxidation at bay. It will keep the carbon and varnish from forming. Also use in transmission, power steering.

That ^ is nice to know. I am just finishing Auto-RX on a Saturn and will be doing 3,000 mile OCI's until out of extended warranty. My engine has a tendency to have rings that get dirty, increasing oil consumption. I will be using Lube Control to keep this in check, even though I am doing 3,000 mile OCI's. I also do a lot of short trips, etc. For me, it is giving me peace of mind knowing the engine will stay clean.
