Kreen Update

Sump size matters. A lawnmower may only have 18oz while a tractor trailer my hold 60qts. 16oz isn't working in either of them, one may actually die with that amount.
Based on a 5qt sump 16oz is 10% in 3 qts that's 16%. I don't go over 10%.

I run it 1K and do an OC with cheap dino if i want to run it again. This is potent stuff i want to clean it not risk damaging it.
I use Redline in the fuel.

Putting 16oz in a 3qt sump maybe overkill.
This is the reason i decided on 3oz per qt as my dosage.

Instructions don't say 16oz to the sump and tank every oil change, its 16oz in the sump and tank every 1k. So if your oil change is 5k, thats 80oz. Now thats overkill, not sure thats even possible..

It is, but unlikely to be necessary. This product evaporates pretty quickly in our vans.

I used 2 treatments of Kreen on my T4R. I added Kreen to the sump on the first treatment about 1K miles, or so, from from my OCI and changing out my oil with Kreen.....I used 18 ounces on the first application since I take 6 quarts with an oversized filter. No Kreen was used on this application in the gasoline.

On my second treatment....the same....about 1K, or so, from my OCI I added 16 ounces of Kreen to the Sump and 12 ounces to the gasoline. I figured the second treatment would do any additional cleaning. The oil and Kreen came out very clean...it was like looking through tan sunglasses on the second drain. IMO...the second treatment must have cleaned up any remaining varnish. No solids or visual particles came out on the second drain of Kreen.

My oil now is very clean....and a light tan when I wipe the dipstick on a paper towel. I've had this run of a blended mix in the sump for 3K so far and it looks like the 2 treatments of Kreen cleaned everything up.

IMO...I'm good to go....

Thats another great story. Cant wait for the second treatment!

Well it has been around 2 month's I think since I Kreened my Tahoe and the ticking still has not returned. I think this is the best internal cleaner I have ever used. I will not use it again for some time. It has done it's job well and I don't want to over do it.

Hi I am new. I made an account to post in this thread.

As you may have guessed from the latter. I am going to report about my Kreen experience.

I cannot stress enough how good this product is. I have been lurking for the past month and had finally decided to get my Kreen. I will talk more about it(in more detail) when I have time but I say that Kreen is phenominal and I am letting y GF and brother use it on their cars too.

I can't wait to try the stuff, kinda makes me want to drive more to reach closer to the end of my current oci. Hope this stuff cleans up sticky piston rings.

Okay I have more time,

First of all, I do not work on cars or anything. I research about the parts and their mechanisms etc etc. i am very much still a newbie and am just starting to dabble in changing my own oil.

I have a 2001 Toyota corolla. I bought it at about 92k miles on it. The sticker indicated that it had about 3k left on the OCI when I bought it.

When I first bought it I drove it here and there. A great deal of highway miles were put on it too. In the first 3k I went to NY from CT twice and traveled a 32 miles /day commute m-f for work. Needless to say I put miles on it quick. Before reading about oil and how to read the dipstick etc etc I had no idea that cars were even capable of burning oil.

In short, my car had burned through most of its oil and I drove around with a knock for roughly 4 days. I had no idea and had not even checked the oil anytime in that first 3k miles. It gets very cold up here and at the time I thought that the cold made my car knock.(yes I am silly). Near the end of the 3k miles(2.5k) I noticed that the oil light had came on occasionally or what I thought was randomly. I know now that it was not random but every time I hit the brakes from going relatively fast, the light would come on. Oil pressure low......

I talked to my mechanic(which I had planned on doing a while ago) and after I told him I had been hearing a knock he told me to not drive the car anymore until I get oil in it. I checked the oil and the stick was dry. VERY dry.....Enter the research.

I just bought this car and here I am having problems. I could have complained to the dealer, but my research and my budget said two things:

1) I could easily run into another car for the price range and have oil burn, because it depends on the track record of the upkeep.

2) I could not afford to buy another car and register it etc etc.

I had to fix this or band-aid this thing to buy some time.

Between now and then I had been refilling and using lucas, only to have to cap the car off every week and constantly change the oil

I read up about everything related to my car and oil. I noticed that I had the same car as leakyseals and that this problem was common with the pistons. I troubleshooted everything. The only thing I did not do within my ability was an Italian tune-up or a piston soak(which may have came if I failed with the kreen in the oil).

I found this thread and read the tons of reviews for kreen. I was not that convinced at the start because since that purchase I have been capping the oil off and using lucas(which from experience is not that good for my car anyways). Kreen was one of my last options before I was going to consider an engine replacement.

I have to thank everyone here and especially Trav and Leakyseals for their enthusiasm about Kreen. I got it in the mail about 400 miles ago and I usually at the 400 mile mark see some noticeable usage. This is my first treatment per trav's guidelines and my car has burned not a drop.

I turned my car on, added the amount(3 ounces per quart) while on. I let the car idle for about 25-30min. I noticed the car responded better. I drove it hard down an empty street and I must say that it was the best feeling I have had in the car since I bought it. I set the trip-o-meter and crossed my fingers. Here I am today creating an account just to talk about Kreen and to those who are considering it.......DO IT. You will not regret it. It is in a tier of its own. Kreen should not even be considered amongst the retail oil treatments in stores.

EDIT: I will update when I reach 1k miles and enter the second round of treatment.

^Well, in order to be fully indoctrinated you must get an oil sample soon at the end of an oil change interval. Send it in for $25 or so, depending on the lab, and post up the results.

Hope your engine lasts, possibly need to get the bearings done, just from the way your experience reads.

I wouldn't worry about the bearings much in this engine, these things seem to take all kinds of abuse and neglect and keep coming back for more.

Just put a dose in my good friends Tahoe. A 2002 with about 180k miles on it. Classic carbon knock symptoms, he came to me after he was diagnosed as needing the engine rebuilt.

Put 16 oz in fuel and oil, when I started it you could literally stand next to it and hear it growing quieter! After 10 minutes it was quiet as a mouse. He's also experiencing oil consumption and I bet that'll quit now too.

Kreen is the bomb. Kreen WORKS!

Napalming my engine one day soon.

Update on the Tahoe. My friend feels he witnessed a miracle.

Oil consumption was nil for two days, normally would be down a quart. This is with Kreen still in it. And it is QUIET at start up and hot idle, where it was clanking and banging.

He is amazed and wants to buy stock in the company!

LOL Sounds like a smart man. I've used Kroil for years for gun cleaning and other odd jobs, the product is great. Kreen is another winner from them!

clanking and banging, and no oil to speak of in engine for 4 days and u add kreen and all is well. hmmm,,maybe. Even my old MMO miracle in a bottle would be hard pressed to make that engine live again...........

Why reply to me about this?
If it stopped knocking i wouldn't worry about it on this engine, or would you pull apart an 11 year old 90K+ engine for a look see?
Not me.

Give this some thought. Oil starvation can cause aggressive coke formation. Kreen dissolves coke like magic.

I've run a slant six an entire Saturday night as a kid with about one quart in it. I put 4 more in Sunday AM when I started it and it sounded like a bowl of rocks. After oil it was just fine, had it for more than a year afterwards.

I stand corrected, looks like u all got a handle on it. Learn something everyday. I guess tuneups in a bottle work sometimes.

Some work and others do not. Kreen works well in certain applications. If you have never had a reason to use Kreen, then stop posting where you have zero experience or knowledge.

In limited circumstances they do. Since we're all different each of us can have a completely different problem, even with the same car.

And remember that Kreen is a descendant/development of Kroil, a highly penetrating lubricant. This is why it is so effective as an internal cleaner.
