^I'd say all of the above.

It immediately begins dissolving crud, and some engines have immediate positive reactions. It will not fix anything, but it can and does remove the gunk that any engine will have after 100k miles or more.

My friend sister's 2002 Camry 4-cyl with 186k miles is very clean under the valve cover, it doesn't have any vanish anywhere when it was in to replace the valve cover. I didn't have the phone to take a picture. I didn't believe my eyes when I first saw it, I was looking for any trace of sludge or vanish but didn't find any.

She had oil change regularly with bulk dino at local garage every 5k miles, may be because she drove it mostly on highway and average trips were more than 15-20 miles in north LA, also may be the weather is mild in So Cal.

That's great, but there's still coked up deposits around the piston skirts, rings, carbon in the head pockets, valve deposits, etc. My old van with 400k miles looked like your sis's car under the valve covers.

It's what you CAN'T see that's the issue.

Agreed. Now is the time for a top-end CCC.

Just be ready for 02 sensor replacement or spark plug replacement. Always possible to carbon foul in an older engine with deposits in the CC.

Mopar also has a good one, leave it overnight for best results.

I'm currently doing a MMO piston soak because I couldn't get Kreen. I noticed that the #2 cylinder was dry after soaking overnight with 3oz of MMO... I think this engine is doneski for sure, which sucks because it only has 59K miles on it and it's a 2001.

I would agree that it is possible, however we are using Kreen now in our fleet and I've used it in several other cars as well. Not a single negative noted yet.
