We have 3 high mileage cars and I've never bought any "High Mileage" oil.

The "seal conditioner" thing kind of scares me! It's like the engine may get addicted to caffeine and has to go to Starbucks every day or every OCI. :ROFLMAO:

Had to stop in Costco later this afternoon to pick up some stuff; off to our Petaluma home early tomorrow to do some, actually a lot, of weeding. Rains brought up the weeds. Friends will help so I picked up a bunch of food and there it was... Picked up the 2 pack. Ready to rock!

I am sure this oil is identical to supertech, and Dexos certification is just a matter of time.
Nothing against Supertech, but I rather shop at Costco than Walmart 😀
Kirkland is my goto oil for 4-5k OCI

One of the benefits of Costco vs Walmart is less chance of getting a used jug of oil from some dirtbag that tries to scam Walmart.

Does Supertech High Mileage have Dexos certification? I checked, and the label says "meets or exceeds," but it does not seem to have an actual Dexos approval.

Some time ago, I noticed that Mobil 1 Extended Performance High Mileage 5w30 didn't have Dexos certification, and I did a quick check again this morning. It appears that Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5w30 still doesn't have the Dexos stamp of approval.

There's something about the spec of the High Mileage oils that prevents Dexos approval. I don't recall exactly what reason was given those many months ago, but it may have been the viscosity ... don't quote me.

Not having the approval did not stop me from using the oil, which I ran every 2nd OCI, alternating with regular Mobil 1 Extended Performance.

There might be expensive licensing fees involved twhich companies dont feel like spending money
Mobil has no issue paying for the Dexos logo on their regular (non-High Mileage) oils, although licensing fees may be an issue, especially for smaller companies. Now that I think about it, many (most?) High Mileage oils contain an additive pack that conflicts with Dexos requirements.
