Kia says to flush brake fluid every 4 years?

Systems are well sealed. But microscopic pores still exist in rubber hoses.
If people think that is not the case, they should change fluid go to local track, and do it with same fluid after 6 months.
I should start testing some quality, OEM DOT 3 fluid for us to see.

I think we might find that moisture isn’t really an issue.

Depends on the area you live in.
But, i can tell you from my experience that performance drops drastically after few months when you push brakes to the limit.
When I was tracking regularly, brake flush is in april and again in june. I tried getting away with once a year flush.
Now, guys running 600-700hp in car like mine are flushing fluid after 2-3 track days.
That is why Castrol SRF is so popular among some people regardless that it is $80 for 1ltr. It allows you to push fluid whole year.

I don’t believe moisture to be a legitimate issue anymore. Systems are well sealed. I think corrosion, due to depletion of the additive pack, is a bigger concern.
Which systems are sealed? I know Honda is still using a vented fill cap, that is open to the atmosphere, to allow air in as the fluid drops.

Given the type of forum that this is, it's interesting the overall resistance to replacing brake fluid (not very expensive unit-wise and cars don't take much = cheap). Seems many of the same folks, when it comes to oil, they spend a lot and change it more often than needed and are ok with throwing it away with useful life remaining. Reminds me of the hood struts lol

They love clean engines and desire corroded caliper pistons.

I can scientifically prove otherwise, but I’m always open to new information.
Liked my two 200cc models enough to get a 500cc - these hoses can often get deeper than a turkey baster - and can “push” as good as it “pulls” fluids …
