What's the point of this? Can't sophisticated thieves just hack the security system without the key anyway?
uk has the reputation of being the car crime capital of the world.
Since the introduction of keyless cars, car theft have soared.
Car can be hacked and driven away within 30 second without attacting attention or being damaged. This means that theives are now less attacted to older cars requiring messy techniques to steal it.
Recently, range rover insurers almost stopped quoting for cover and JLR introduced it's own insurance cover as a solution.
