Here is the second UOA for my ecoboost. Alot of fuel in the oil but the oil seemed to hold up very well for the amount of fuel as there is probably way more than the 2.8% showing. The fuel really brought down the flashpoint, the VOA had the fp at 435F Wear is going down as it should as break in is almost complete. The oil ended up in the 20wt range so I'm not too concerned about it not having adequate protection. Refilled with more Kendall FS. I've decided 5,000 OCI is the optimum combination with this oil for my driving habits and this engine. I think 6k would be pushing my luck to far. I will be picking up some synblend kendall and trying that also. Seems that 5K is the limit with this engine from my uoa and other posters.

I do not believe 6K is pushing it to far at all. You would have a cushion at that but I understand you wanting to be cautious too bad the manufactures can not get DI in gasoline engines quite right because with less Fuel dilution your UOA's would look outstanding considering the low miles on the engine. Also I do not see Kendall GT 5W-30 pulling away from Motorcraft 5W-20 from the dealership at all in this application and OCI length.

With over 5% fuel dilution and 1.5 tbn at 5725, I don't see how that would leave much of a cushion if I went over 6k. I think I found optimum OCI between 5-6k. I do agree tho, the 5w-20 didn't do too bad compared to the 5w-30 especially since there was still break in metals but with the turbos I'll stick to the recommended 5w-30. For a 3k oci I bet the engine wouldn't tell the difference between the two unless your towing. These are some of the lowest wear metals in a uoa of an ecoboost I've seen tho.

I'm going to agree with the 6k. From the local Ford dealership, they seem to like that number as well with the EBs..

I doubt 275 miles would bring your TBN down to 1.0 but the gas in the oil is not helping things out. I like the idea of a DI turbo V6 but somethings need to be ironed out.

Also, during the first UOA I can't confirm it if was actually 5w-20 or 5w-30 due to it being a dealer fill. With the fuel dilution it very well could have been 5w-30. If it was 5w-30, I think the kendall did prove to be a bit better.

Please explain how Kendall " held up better" than the M1.

I was refering to the viscosities and flashpoint. Had almost 1k more miles and the values were a little bit higher. Can't compare wear metals since theyre both young engines.

looks like the kendall held up well...especially with the fuel dilution #'s...getting ready to change my Castrol edge titanium out this week...I'll have around 5000 miles on the oil.
