Keep my Hyundai or buy another Toyota?

Was finally able to capture this on video.

One guy heard a Power Steering whine when I started it up at a dealership (Ford dealership). It was not making THIS noise which I was hoping I could capture while he was there. I drove it home and started making this noise my wife and I have been talking about. Anyone know just by listening what this could be? Belts? Alternator? I remind you it's parked and gets worse with revving.

Sounds like a bearing going bad to me, like an idler pulley or alternator. As mentioned earlier, removing the drive belts can help isolate it.

Sounds like a hydraulic pump (PS pump) whining. How's the fluid condition? Perhaps contamination of the fluid or a gummed up valve in the rack?

I recently sucked out and refilled the reservoir with fresh Max Life PS fluid. But perhaps the thing needs to be flushed, eh?

I'm talking about the Power Steering reservoir.

85k seems pretty young, but it's 9 years old. Nickle and dime stuff is going to occur. And fixing it is going to be cheaper. I'd fix it, if only because trade-in is going to be horrible; and trying to private sale is going to be easier if you can look the buyer in the eye and say "no issues."

Moving in a different direction, what kind of Toyota would you replace it with? Econobox or a similar SUV? Similar SUV is gonna cost quite a bit, while an econobox would save you at the pump as the years go by.

How is the rest of the vehicle doing (rust etc), and, now that it's 9 years old, what are the expected problems that will occur? Should be plenty of them taken past 100k by now, and which could shed light as to what is coming next.

If you suck out what you can from the PS reservoir, and refill, and do that several times after driving, I'd think it'd get the old fluid pretty well diluted.
