I mean I wager it was worse back in time a bit but because we don't have the media exposure we do today it wasn't noticed or reported as much.

These days within 20 mins the whole world knows...compare that to the 30's...50's...70's...

+1. Yep, "Thug Huggin'" has become very popular today, while the average Joe who is trying to work hard, do the right thing, and have traditional values is now the enemy.

Thermo, You did the right thing in reacting to a potentially dangerous situation. For that, you should be commended. However, you probably would have been better off just calling it in to the PD. Don't know about your department, but around here they would have been all over it and it would have been dealt with. At minimum, a BOLO would be issued to cars in the area.
I also agree with Dood, why are you wasting time arguing with a potted plant?
