It's incredible how different you feel...

No kidding. Real cream for us. If I don't have that, I'll have it black (but I usually brew it too strong at home to go without). I still like a pinch of sugar though. We started buying sugar cubes years ago, and love those for our coffee. Makes it real easy to have the same amount every time.

I wish decaf coffee tasted the same as regular. Last couple days I cut back from four cups to two, and it wasn't a shock to the system--BUT--I found myself "needing" something hot to sip on. Herbal teas are nice and all, but I want coffee!

Couple more weeks, and I'll be ready for spring. Nothing like getting outside for exercise to keep one's spirits up.

I slowly added back in fruit and a bit of sugar for my coffee; no real change. Placebo? Maybe.

I do wonder about cutting out both caffiene and alcohol. Normally I like 3-4 cups of coffee a day; when I slow down I get a cup. But then I like to have a couple glasses of wine or beer to bring things to an end in the evening. Lots of calories there, and cost.

That much coffee = massive dehydration which is THE root of so much that we ail.

My morning smoothie recipe for ya:

half of a frozen organic banana
Handful of organic goji berries
handful of raw organic almonds.
1 avocado
pH 9.5 Kangen Water
1 heaped tsp of organic wheatgrass powder
1 tsp of organic maca
1 scoop of Vega All-in-one Nutritional shake mix (french vanilla flavor)

Tastes yummy and is PACKED with awesomeness!!

I usually drink 2L of water per day, unless if I'm getting more than 30min of exercise. Then it can really spike. It's a bit odd for me to not visit the restroom hourly, so I don't think I've got issues there. I do taper my water intake off in the evening, so as to avoid trips in the middle of the night.

When traveling I make sure to only have coffee, actually. The moment I get a sip of water I might as well park the car.

This time of year though I do have to fight a bit to drink 2L of water. As dry as it is I just am not thirsty all the time.

Speaking of which, is it really "appropriate" to walk around with a water bottle? It seems to be the hip thing now. I mean, at work you walk into a meeting with a coffee; but now at church or social events you show up with a Nalgene. And take a sip whenever you want. I'm not quite sure if that is any better or worse than glancing at one's smartphone in such situations.

That strikes me as a lot of sugar first thing in the morning. I could be wrong.

You mean snow shoveling doesn't give you enough exercise in the great outdoors?

There is often a huge difference between what is appropriate and what is the truth. Drinking water and carrying it with you is truth/intelligence/right action

I hear ya, I personally have to be careful with sugar intake, thats why i half the banana. Only 4g sugar in 1 serving of Gojis. 2g per serv in the Vega.

Artificial sweeteners are pure toxic, doesn't matter the type! People just need to realize that pure, raw sugar is perfect!!! Don't fall into the FDA's [censored] conspiracy about sugar being so bad for you, its not!! I challenge any of you to read up on Aspartame sweetener, you will never consume it again!

Stay away from diet soda folks!!!

I try to eat all my food as close to nature as possible. Salads with fresh veggies, little bit of olive oil salt and pepper is tough to beat. All meals made from scratch with real ingredients from nature. A bit of cheese, nuts, lots of water, butter, rice, bit of potato. Fruits and veggies as snacks, oatmeal. I am finding more and more that if I stick closer to nature, I feel more satisfied after a meal rather than "full". Also I find I don't need to eat as much as I used to when I follow this method. Of course moderation of all these things that makes a difference as well could be the greatest words of wisdom.

So a glass of pop once every couple of months with a night out, other than that, no coffee, maybe a bit of herbal tea on a cold night, no alcohol, drugs of any kind or smoking of any kind. Treats are just that, not a regular occurrence.

If it was me, I would. I'm not sure that artificial sweetners are the devil's sugar, but I'm not convinced that it isn't. If it takes decades for a side effect to show up, well, it could be decades before a product would be known as hazardous. I'd rather let others be the test subjects.

Right,,i know any sugar isn't good for you but if artificial sweeteners are bad ill avoid them.

I do have a bit of a sweet tooth, and stuff like my grandmother's oatmeal cookies I could eat WAY too many, too fast.

I try to avoid the sugars, but do consume some of the wrong stuff sometimes, and probably in too large a quantity. I really should wipe all sugars out of my diet as much as I can...

hehe, 2 words for you: baby cart (or season like) baby sledge

Moderation in all things.
I don't feel odd or ill eating a moderate amount of any non-sugar sweeteners. I do feel much better not eating volumes of refined sugar. But once again, smaller quantities of sugar eaten now and then have no effect on me.
In my opinion one must find middle ground in diet....going all one way or another based of the current fad or health fear is no way to live. It's fairly obvious that eating a diet made up of fresh fruit and vegetables, lean protein, and quality carbs is the way to go. Small portions, eating frequently, and moderate exercise.
Just my opinion.

My wife was having vision problems with floaters and double vision. Eye doctor asked her about any artificial sweeteners in her diet primarily aspartame. Yes sir she was consuming diet coke and up to six cans per day. Problem 100% solved when she quit diet coke.

I've been pounding the water lately. I read a calculation that says to take your body weight and divide it in half. That's how many ounces of water you should drink daily. It fills you up and makes me feel better. The cause of most headaches is dehydration since the brain is 85% water. I track how much I drink daily. Then stop drinking it in the evening so I can sleep through the night without getting up.

I'm replacing the excess food I used to eat with mugs of water. Skin used to dry out this time of year but not now. I've only had 4 cups so far today so time to start drinking up.

Just had two more cups, so at 6 right now. Sometimes I'll guzzle 4 cups of water first thing in the morning.

I'm the same way - switched to Stevia/Truvia.

And I've never understood the obscession with drinking large quantities of water. It's been said as long as your urine isn't dark yellow you are getting enough water. Not to mention your body gets plenty of water from food and drink and I think the huge quantities of water is more a placebo.

I usually have 3-4 cups of coffee, 2 16oz waters, a little more at night with dinner (soda or flavored water), maybe a diet sports drink, and a beer at night. No issues here.

Modern researchers are calling Alzheimers Diabetes type III as it affects the uptake of sugar in the brain.

Sugar and insulin are a really big key in good health. The [censored] about low fat diet is all wrong, there's good fat and bad fat. You need good fat in your diet.

Pssst... guess what your brain is made of...
