That's the thing the whole reason for Breyers existence was they were the only widely available brand of ALL NATURAL
ICE CREAM at a REASONABLE PRICE..

You have to remember that Breyers does not compete with premium ice cream like B&J and
Haagen Dazs....they are high fat premium products. Breyers like at the top of the food chain for regular fat ice creams and of course they are / were alone in making such a product. There is a great balance of value and quality with them compared to any other competing brand.

Think of Breyers as the VW among it's
SUB-premium competition. VW DOESN'T compete with BMW, or Audi, it competes with Honda, Toyota, and Mazda for just little more money you get a lot more value, and a better performing car most times.

Breyers competes with Edy's, Turkey Hill, and Blue Bell.

I only know of Turkey Hill, in a least vanilla maybe in a couple of other varieties BlueBell and Homemade brand which probably isn't national. All of those brands make non all-natural ice cream too. You have to read ingredients labels to be sure.

good points antiquehell, I do understand the brand image vs what they are using it to sell. I'm sure a lot of people like you would hate it when what they were selling for years have changed without telling you.

I like the Publix (regional grocery store) house brand. The Greenwise ones have a simple ingredients list, but they only come in vanilla and chocolate.

Don't know if you'd consider a house brand a big name, but the containers of Market Fresh from Target are just the simple indgredients of milk, sugar, cream, eggs, and natural flavoring. I think even the cookies and cream that we like has only those indgredients along with the cookies.

Blue Bunny ice cream all the way... I also like their frozen yogurt better than ice cream. They yogurt is all natural with probiotics and there is an all natural vanilla ice, the only ice cream I usually buy. If you want heavenly ice cream, try 2nd Street Creamery ice cream; its horrible for you but the most delicious ice cream I've ever had. We buy a pint and only have a few spoonfuls at a time.

Fareway and HyVee grocery stores are the ones around me that have it. I don't buy groceries anywhere else so I cant tell ya. Some Caseys gas stations have it as well. It might be a regional thing as well as the 2nd street creamer is also owned by Wells Dairy, makers of Blue Bunny.
