Is this filter longer version of the YZZD1?

Nobody said that all Toyotas use a 3/4-16 oil filter thread. As pointed out a lot of them do, but not all.

And there seems to be some confusion going on between understanding metric and SAE threads.
You might wanna take a look at the first page, two people have stated that the thread size of these two filters that were the original topic a discussion we’re threaded as three-quarter by 16

A ton of bad information out there.

On a related note...
Most Toyotas in the US of A use the 3/4-16 thread, but do most Toyotas in other countries use metric threads? Perhaps they get a different thread adapter in countries who use the metric system???

Yes, those two subject filters have a 3/4-16 thread, which is exactly what many sources also say. You still seem to believe they have a metric thread. They don't have metric threads.

What exactly is your claim of "a ton of bad information out there"? Show a source that they have a metric thread as you seem to believe.

I highly doubt it. Everyone that makes an oil filter for a Toyota with a 3/4-16 non-metric threads don't also list in their oil filter look-up tables a separate identical filter with a metric thread. Why would Toyota or any other auto maker want to complicate something like that. Just like some people "believe" that an engine maker is going to make the same engine with different journal bearing clearances just so it can run a thinner oil, which is a misconception.

I wondered because EU countries often have different engine models/versions. For example the EU 2005 Corolla had at least three versions of the 4 cyl (and a diesel) but we only had two versions.

It could be possible, but would have to be researched to prove it one way or the other. Can any source be found to show that the same engine used in another country has a different oil filter thread, and therefore a different specified filter model number from the same filter maker that makes a filter for the US version of the engine?

I don't know. I did a quick search for EU Toyota 4 cyl filters but the engine numbers are different than ours (we have 1zz and 2zz but they dont have these). It may be impossible to directly compare them.

I've never seen any oil filter lookup system asking what country the vehicle is sold in because there are two identical filters for it, but with two different thread options. Vehicles sold in other countries with SAE oil filter threads will specify a filter with the matching threads, and oil filter makers will make them to fit with the correct threads.

Ok…..apparently I’m having a brain fart
I can’t find the info I had seen previously.
My apologies……I died upon the sword.

From my looking around, Toyota never gives the thread specs on their oil filters. You have to look at the application and the aftermarket filters that cross reference to the Toyota filters to see what threads they use.
