Is this filter longer version of the YZZD1?

I find it interesting that Toyotas lists the thread size in millimeters……..
That's because they are a metric sized thread. There are SAE threads, and there are metric threads. They list the size based on if it's SAE or metric. Nobody lists SAE threads in metric units. And nobody lists metric threads in SAE units. That would be ridiculous to do.

Yep……that’s what I was saying earlier

All I’m saying is is that the Toyota, and the rest of the world, specs the filter in mm. The United States converts that crap & we call it 3/4.
It's either a metric thread or an SAE thread, and expressed accordingly in those thread units. Nobody expresses metric threads in SAE units or SAE threads in metric units. My 4.0L Tacoma V6 has an SAE 3/4-16 thread for the oil filter. It's not a metric thread.

OK, where does this come from?
Not to argue, but if you look at the filter from Toyota, it the specs is being in millimeters
Which Toyota filter(s) ... post the link to that info. Like mentioned before, some Toyota filter threads are metric, but the majority of them are not.

Like I asked before where are you getting this information? Where is the source material?
This info is all over the internet ... do some research. There are dozens of sources that all say the same thing.

Where are you getting your information?

So this thread started out about the 90915-YZZD1 and a longer alternative.

The D3 was discussed. This brought about the thread size discussion.

I brought up the D3 is a direct replacement of the D one. I’ve been using it on my Japan built 2008 FJ since October that year.

Then we went down this three-quarter by 16 topic. Some seem to believe that all Toyota filters are 3/4x16.

Nobody said that all Toyotas use a 3/4-16 oil filter thread. As pointed out a lot of them do, but not all.

And there seems to be some confusion going on between understanding metric and SAE threads.

Toyota, but whatever I’m done
And exactly what was the information?

Per your post 10: "I find it interesting that Toyotas lists the thread size in millimeters…….."

What metric thread size does Toyota show for the 90915-YZZD1 and 90915-YZZD3?

I think part of the confusion comes from online listings who present incorrect info. For example, Amazon lists the D1 and D3 as having M16x1.5 threads. Amazon is wrong! Both filters are 3/4-16. And AI parrots the same BS. Here is a chart showing the thread sizes for most engines used in racing but includes many non-racing, too.

I buy many parts from Amazon including but not limited to oil filters. That said, I never trust their fitment/specs listings alone. I always try to go to parts maker source first and then confirm with other sites like RA before purchase. While Amazon many times right, I've found them wrong too, so not authoritative.
