So after hearing all the bad things about all the filters that use to be good and everyone recommending the foreign made pg filters, I was wondering what your opinions are on these two. One is a direct replacement for fl920s motorcraft and the other is supposedly an upgraded version fleet guards motorcraft Fl1a which if I make it fit will allow me to just pour 6 quarts in instead of 5.5.
Never heard much about fleetguard and kinda stumbled across them on the internet. Are they great or garbage?

Fleetguard is as close as it gets to Cummins OEM, they spun off from Cummins Filtration under a new parent called Atmus Filtration. They still do supply OEM filters to Cummins and other OEMs. As for their market coverage is very confined in the Heavy Duty equipment space.

Both Donaldson and Fleetguard invest millions in R&D in filtration media development which you can easily look up from any recent patent filings in google patents. Its a bummer they don't bring their technology to automotive applications considering the current state of the market. You'd be lucky to find filter for your application if you search by attributes than by cross-ref just as with Donaldson as well.
