Never seen this on a food product? It usually says new improved taste or something.

I remember when they made the store brand french onion dip..
"NOW MADE WITH REAL SOUR CREAM"
so of course I wondered what was in it before...

Partially hydrogenated soybean oil.... ok thats a major improvement

Is the highlight here to "New Formula" the elimination of high fructose corn syrup? That ingredient is getting bad press in many foodie circles.

That is an odd label. In defense of Franz they are pretty good for a commercial baker.

Remember the cellulose in Wonder Bread?

I should just pony up for these buns. My local store carries a whole assortment of their products from France.

The best is when I see "human grade" on pet food. Like, were we giving them sub-par food before or can we buy bags of kibble for ourselves now?

And if you didn't know better, you'd think they were hamburger enriched buns, as in enriched with hamburger.

I'm noticing this a lot more these days. Nonsensical wording on things.

I don't think I'll ever forget the "Run Like New" Mobil 1 at Wal-Mart.

Unfortunately, the word "formula" describes these highly processed foods better than "recipe". If you bake buns at home you will need flour (let's assume normal and not enriched flour), milk, butter, sugar, salt and yeast. The ingredient list on these buns will be vastly different, more like a formula and not a recipe.
