Is GTX/Havoline too good an oil to use w/Auto-rx?

I am going to do another Auto-rx treatment on two of my cars this spring. I have a good stock of both Hovoline (the old formula) and Castrol GTX dino oil. My question is: Should I use either Havoline or GTX for the Auto-rx cleaning and rinsing cycles or should I pick up some cheap dino oil like SuperTech or store brand oil (AAP) to use on the Auto-rx treatment instead? Anyone?

Im doing an autorx treatment as soon as my 3 bottles come in the mail, and im doing it on havoline for both phases. Don't see why you couldn't use them, do you mean are they too good as in you don't want to waste them or they're too good as they might immobilize the RX?

I am thinking about how effective it would be using these oil (GTX or Havoline) as compares to using some cheaper oil (like SuperTech or AAP brand) with a lesser additive package already in the oil to maximze the cleaning effect of Auto-rx.

Is that mean I should not use the Castrol GTX dino oil with the new anti-sludge formula which what I had in my oil stash?

I would like to use Castrol GTX for the cleaning and rinsing cycles. Is it ok to use the GTX dino oil that I have in my stash. They are the ones with the new anti-sludge formula.

It sounds like you should not use the GTX "ANTI-SLUDGE" formula.

Here, I found what Frank was talking about with the GTX-
"Straight Castrol GTX non synthetic oil & Auto-Rx works great on 99.9% of all engines( you may not be able to find Straight Castrol if it has "Sludge Fighting Chemistry"on label pass) and go on to Group111 Oils (Pennsoil Platimum) always stay with OEM specs for oil visosity."

I am ready to do my Auto-rx cycles. The straight Castrol GTX dino oil are no longer available, the only GTX dino oil that I can find and had in my stash are the ones with the anti-sludge formula. So should I use the GTX or not with Auto-rx?

I'm pretty sure Frank posted in another thread here recently, something to the effect that "he's done testing with the new GTX formula and it's not a problem to use it with ARX" . Search on Frank's posts within maybe the past 4 to 6 weeks and you'll find it.
