Is A Switch To M10W40 Problematic?

The only problem I see is that Mobil 1 0w-40 costs quite a bit more than Rotella T6 5w-40.

Give the 10w-40 a try you may like it. The synthetic oils last a long time and there usually isn't any reason to change them at dino oil intervals.

I buy my M1 0w40 when I can get 5 quarts and a M1 filter from $31. That's not bad for a nearly a years worth of protection.

Try MotorCraft 5W-20 semi synthetic. It may actually quiet your engine and may actually result in less wear. It may also Decrease any oil consumption.
