I remember gateway good year oil change 6 year ago, all they use was fram oil filter, they still in business now though.

All you fram guy's can have my share. Much better filters are available at the same or better price point.
if I would pick a cheapest oil filter I can find, I pick puralator classic.

I would tend to go along with that. The fiber/cardboard itself isn't an issue with me. It's the overall build strenth, media and all that.

Is not the end caps that make me hate Fram. Is the amount of filter media they use. Might as well don't use a filter and save your money!

well that is a different story all together-less filter media per dollar is a measurable issue to discuss--fiber end caps v metal has never shown to be inferior

I used a fram and my dog died and my wife left me! The only thing constant is change. I walked into a NAPA about fifteen years ago and they had all the major brands cut open. The AC/DELCO I was using was enough to give a heart attack.Back then the Fram wasn't too bad. When I first started driving I used purolator. The only Purolator I've used in recent history had anti-drainback valve issues. They all seem to go thru cycles of good and bad but Napa seems to be the most consistent to me.
