As I noted, I retired at 51 and soon became bored. I worked at a dealer for 18 month, and while I loved the job I hated the hours. A friend then recruited me to serve as city attorney for my hometown. That was fun but contemporaneously to that I was coerced back into politics. My current job is enjoyable 90% of the time and the extra income is always welcome. I promised my bride that I would only serve one term, but if I was younger I'd be inclined to stick around a bit longer. Just as life is too short to drive boring cars, it's also short to work at something you dislike.
I'm finally retired!
