One would think that stuff turns into a jelly/slushie consistency in -50* F + ambients, No??

Not as long as you leave the engine running, or keep it in a heated garage.

Oops, just noticed the "gas/diesel" part. I'll have to change my choice to RLI BioSyn 5w-40 HD.

One of the many 5W40's since it would work just as well in a 600HP Diesel and it would in a high tech AMG or a low tech 500,000 mile Volovo etc......It would work in most of North America other then the artic cirlce area's in the Nothern Canada area's.

If we limit it to just my personel gasoline powered cars and truck that I currently service and price and politics and marketing are excluded Amsoil S3K 5W30 used on all vechiles!

Here is a good example of somebody who can think outside of the box. The question is if you could pick only one motor oil which would it be? Well, what Johnny says may well come true. The way things are going someday we may have only one choice (or a few choices) and the products will come from China (or India or whatever).

No wonder Johnny was in the employ of Pennzoil. They probably really like people who can think outside of the box.

Any mixed Fleet HDEO, buster had a pretty good suggestion too. Rotella 5w40 comes to mind for all around use as well. Amsoil s3k 5w30 would be ideally the best all around oil if it wasn't so expen$ive.

Amsoil ACD 10w30/30W. Thinking about running this stuff in my 5.3 Yukon after I get an Auto rx dose through the engine.
