I am asking Auto-rx to distribute their products more readly available thru out to USA.
I live in Seattle area, I checked with local
auto parts store, ie NAPA, Schucks, GI Joe,
and Wall Mart. No one is carrying it.
It also goes to Shaeffer oil.

Before I joined the Bob is the oil guy, I never
heard Auto-rx and Shaeffer oil.

I think it is unlikely that Schaeffer's Oil is going to start selling in auto parts stores. Schaeffer's sells mostly to large accounts, it seems, in trucking, agriculture, industry, and construction. Schaeffer's may not even care if all that many people from the general public buy their motor oils.

There is an Auto-RX web site. Auto-RX was developed by one man who sells it. If it became a very well known product perhaps we would see it being sold in auto parts stores.

Auto-Rx is not organized to sell retail through auto parts stores however we are testing Auto-Rx with a major professional racing team and who knows ? Every time we change application instructions it's because our major source of Auto-Rx testing has furnished us with new application data and we have the right to use there results. We don't have the right to print there test results under a joint secrecy agreement that includes Dyson Oil Analysis-Auto-Rx
If you read carefully Dyson's Oil Tests located
on www.auto-rx.com you would learn a lot and some of the comments that are made on this board about Auto-Rx would become much clearer.

jsleesi can you imagine RX available off the shelf? Add new filter and run 1500 miles, change filter etc. It just wouldn't happen, people would just add to old oil and leave forever. It's hard enough getting oil savvy people here to follow simple instructions let alone your average punter. RX would get blamed for any problem that occurred.

It is being sold retail through the Internet.

Greatest marketing tool since the corner drug store, and almost with the same personal touch.

The Internet also allows entrapeneurs to compete.

Not exactly. Selling through a retail distribution chain is expensive. Either the oil would cost more, or the quality would have to be diminished. There are a few outlets that sell retail, but with no big-buck advertising campaign, it's up to the retailer to make the product known. Most likely, the retailer in these cases is selling to folks for personal use where they use and like Schaeffer at work.

If you go to the AutoRX website, call the customer service line and ask for tech support, guess who you talk to? The man who invented it!! Do you get that support at retale outlets? Do you thing Bill Gates will answer a few questions about Windows XP for you? Or "Gee Mr. Welch, my washer/dryer combo keeps blowing fuses, could you recommend something?"

When I had a order question I spoke to Frank directly. This kind of service is unheard of except for in a small company. Yeah, I think for Frank's sake getting it into the major chain stores and selling 10 million a year would be great for him and his company. But honestly, I regard personal attention with customers very important. Because of my experience with AutoRX, I will go to great lengths to tout this product with my friends and family.

I'm another big supporter of AutoRx. I don't give my endorsement lightely, but when something works, I'll cry it's virtues. If it does not, I'm the first to say so also.

I do wish it was more readily available, but a long as a product has easy online ordering, I'll buy it.

Speaking of that, is anyone selling Schaeffer that way?

I'm working on Frank to start bringing AutoRX to repair shop owners, so they can offer real engine cleaning to thier customers. I agree that it would be mis - used by the majority of DIY's, but with professional treatments, I think it would be a great opportunity for the comercial advancement of Autorx.

There is such a thing as inertia here.
Takes time and effort to persuade someone to even listen about a new product, and then to try it.
Store owners aren't eager to give up shelf space unless there is a known demand for a product.
Only a very small percentage of consumers ever set foot in an auto parts store.
AutoRX takes some knowledge and some time to use properly---in a culture which expects all problems to be solved in either 30 minute or an hour (less commercials).

It appears to me that Frank is certainly on the right track.

Keep in mind that it took millions of dollars and almost a generation for Mobil Oil to build a profitable customer base for Mobil 1.
