I need the best penetrating oil

Here's a good story about PB Blaster that I will never forget. 1999 Tahoe 4 door. Going back to 2014. Frame is ok shape, came out of the cape, was probably used at the boat ramp. Had to replace rear shocks. Sprayed the upper bolts , a few days in a row and I'll get to it by the weekend. We'll 3 days later the shock goes right through the mount. Guess the mount was so rusty it dissolved it. 😆 I'll never forget that.

A real rust buster!

Speaking of rust and corrosion, I would love to know what the Navy spends painting their fleet a year.

It's probably like the Golden Gate Bridge. By the time they finish one end, they have to start all over again at the other.

advice here is sound, though I have not tried the honey bee wax notion. I would bite the bullet and buy Kroil direct from Kano. Like BG products, it is excellent but tough to find. Personally, I alternate between PBlaster and Kroil while disassembling my 63 Avanti, it is not clear which is better.
Had a frat brother from Arlington his dad had an Avanti with its chromed engine. Guy in college drove an old 50's Studebaker truck

I loved the Stude brand and always felt bad for them that they faded out. Stude made some really awsome motor cars in their day.
Many are still on the roads and on several race tracks and drag strips to this day. :)

I like this as well, also have had excellent results with "Deep Creep" by Seafoam.
We used Kroil on the job a lot on equipment that at times would be hard to break even with impact wrenches etc.... I started to order some cases of spray can Kroil before our annual plant shutdown/turn-a-rounds. A couple of us would go out into the process units and spray kroil all over the large nuts and bolts that we knew we would be tasked to break down on equipment manway covers and large flanges as well as major service pipe flanges. By the time the production teams had cleared , flushed and cooled down the equipment the kroil would have done its trick. Many of the nuts and bolts would just break so easy that a lot of the older (hard to convince) :rolleyes:guys became true believers of kroil. It is expensive though.

Oh it works. Better than most. Not THAT much better than some though.

Everyone has their favorites based on what they have tired. Some of the items mentioned I have never seen in any kind of retail store. You can not control what is available to you. The best factors which you may have some control over are heat and time. What ever you use, the more time you give it and if you can add some heat it will all work in your favor.

Any sightings of Silikroil non aerosol? In less than a gallon. I’ll pony up if I need to but the gallon is over $100

I do not think is available in that size. Why don't you buy Kroil and spray some silicone on the frozen parts. Try it. what do you have to lose?
I already use the Silikroil. Just want a refill in non aerosol. When I know what works I just stick with it.

Not much of a mechanic in a can guy, but 47 or so years ago in the shop we used CRC 5-56 and that juice had its place. Then we got some new air tools and chisels and of course the ol' Alabama hot wrench.
Shocks and exhaust were cake.

I use cans of stuff from Menards. I don't think there is pixie dust in Kroil and making it expensive and harder to get has been marketing genius.
Aerosol cans. Foam cups and paper towels are my treat in life. Use a can every week and buy a case at a time and needs to be economical.
Kroil cans used to work and squirt a drop at a time now they come gushers.
We went liq wrench for long time till they dominate the market and raise the price. Back in the day we use WD in gallon and sprayers, we add a pint of oil or atf to gallon and that worked decent but bottles were a problem and a mess and not very portable.

I agree that Kroil/Aerokroil works, but really not any better than some much less expensive alternatives like PBlaster, Liquid Wrench or Deep Creep.

At least Kroil has recently improved their retail availability by being stocked at Advance Auto Parts and O'Reilly stores. Still expensive though (even when on sale).

I found liquid wrench to be the only real competition to kroil. Never had luck with deep creep. It penetrated well but didn’t break rust like the top 2

I don't think there's much to any real differences at all between grades of penetrating oil. At some point, it's just fluid mechanics and chemical properties. They're all petroleum distillate solvents with using combination of dissolving stuff and creeping stuff (capillary action).

Don't overpay for a niche fluid like Kroil when any number of parts store cans work as well. The fact that Blaster can dissolve Styrofoam is only useful if your rusty bolt is also made of Styrofoam.
