What I don't understand is what if somebody posts a link to youtube video where the comments are profanity free, then - after the link has been posted and the edit time has expired - somebody on youtube chooses to express themselves in vulgarities in the comments, how is the poster of the link to be held responsible?

I see the logic in not using that kind of language here (sort of, anyway) and it stands to reason that we should not link to material that employs that kind of language. But to say that the comments on a video or article can't contain profanity is ridiculous. It's just absurd. You're holding people liable for the actions of strangers in the future.

That is why they NEED to embed the video link.

If they do that and the video is clean nothing to worry about. If someone whats to view the comments then they are doing more than getting it from here linked direct and that is all them.

Way over sensitive.

For starters why would any kids be on here? You can't own a car that needs its oil changed until you are 16, by that point what haven't you seen.

Silliness.

Agree. I don't think being a little more tolerant or flexible will kill this board's quality. This is an adult website, and should be treated as such. However, I do not make the rules and therefore can only follow them.

It's not like a bunch of 8 year olds are following this site. Watching TV would expose you to much more than anything you'll find on here.

This subject has been thoroughly discussed and the fact remains that the rules have been in place for 9 years and they are not going to be changed.
