Mazda recommend for the 2.0 liter , 0w20 for Canada and U.S, in Mexico they recommend 5w20...... I live in Mtl Canada

0w20 can be find only as a synth.base am I right ?

5w20 can be find in synth. and mineral am I right ?


I may decide to go 5w20 since its readily avail everywhere , am I giving Mazda ammunition to deny warranty coverage ?

BTW this car will not see winter

That's strange since the ones in the US recommend 5w-20 (at least I'm sure of this for 2006). The engine hasn't changed. And I'm sure some of the midwest and northern states get at least as cold as Canada.

0-20 is better for very cold winter starting, and in your location, this is very important.
Mexico, being a lot warmer, can use the 5-20 - it is more appropriate.

0-20s are full synthetic.
5-20 are usually a blend.

Actually 0W20 can be syn-blend, Honda has 0W20 in both full-syn and syn-blend.
