I hate when they hold handguns sideways in movies!

There are worse. I.E., 4 or 5 shots out of a double barrel shotgun!
Grouchy is fun if you keep it in perspective.......just for fun. There is plenty to be grouchy about. But if you let it take hold, you just become a miserable person, both for yourself and everyone around you. Geez, am I full of wisdom today? Maybe full of something else? Good to laugh at oneself always.

You just need to practice that way.
Those scenes are for show, 99.9% of those posing in them have no real shooting skills either.
They look stupid. How many times did you see someone shoot two handed with proper grip, trigger control etc?

Sideways would reduce the chance of a stove-pipe jam. It does seem that sometimes they are more interested in spraying bullets instead of aiming one well.

Whats better than shooting sideways is shooting sideways while thrusting the gun forward with each shot.

When Tuco* is taking a bath in The Good, the Bad and and the Ugly, a guy busts in on Tuco with the intention of killing him. Tuco fires a few times - I guess he bathes with his sixgun, and the finishes the guy with the gun in a side grip. This is one of the earlier uses of side grip in movies.Does it annoy anyone else?
After seeing it, many times I shut it off and find another movie.
Maybe I am an old and just grouchy.
When you're lying under the sofa or dangling from a rope by your ankle, side grip may be your only option.

Just keep training guys. Try shooting lying on your back with a target ahead, gun upside-down, it's fun
