So we come home from our parents house. I take a nap as its pretty customary after a big meal. We wake up a few hours later and she says that we need to go see a movie. Ugh fine. We arrive, I go to the bathroom, she gets our tickets and discover she bought for the showing of "WICKED". At that very moment I feel violated, shame, etc. I look around to make sure no one sees me there. Its dreadful from the first part til the end. Cant use my phone, sober, and I wished I had taken my prescription medications which would have put me out in less than thirty minutes. The kind that the doctor tells you to only take at bedtime and dont be awake when the blue elephant shows up from not going to sleep.
Just got home about ten minutes ago but that was brutal. If you have this happen to you just know the struggle is real.

It's a kids movie so I took my 9 year old granddaughter to see it because she wanted to go. I’m not sure exactly what we saw, starting with the very beginning in the part where “Every family has their secrets” and the piano scene, which results in a green baby….? Really?! WTH? Maybe I missed the point somehow. And goats for college professors at Shiz University? Those script writers had to be on hallucinagens tripping on their own mental flatulence. A total POS movie.

Fully understand.

Years ago I was being a "bad" husband so agreed to take my Wife to the Nutcracker at a live theater.

Super brutal experience. I was so very happy when the play ended......... that is when my Wife told me the play did not end--- it was an intermission and had to sit through the second half......

everything you just sited is direct from the 2003 broadway musical, and mostly direct from the books by Gregory Macguire.
you do realize it's set in the land of OZ right? you know the place with the Munchkins, the talking scarecrow, tin woodsman, and cowardly lion?

I saw the Musical in 2010, have read all the books, still have the original cast recording memorized all these years later, and am going to the movie with all the girls in the family later today. ( Mom, Sister, Niece, Nephew's Wife, and if she can get off work on time my GF)

Well when they start with something really quite good, like Wizard of Oz, very original for the time (book written around 1900, movie was 1939) - it takes true talent to ruin it so badly. I mean Zardoz doesn't get much credit for actually being better. Anyway, just like my opinion man. If you enjoy it, fine. It will probably win some awards. Or something.

Op, many many years ago, I did the man version of a movie date of what your wife put you through.

I had not seen any previews and really did not know what the movie was about, but just from the name of it decided I wanted to see it. So, I took a woman on our first date to see Apocalypse Now. What a bloody and gory war movie that even the men in the theatre had way more than what they wanted to see regarding human mutilation. Needless to say there was no second date with her. Man did I ever chose the wrong movie to take a woman to.

I can't turn on the TV without WICKED being shoved down my throat by Xfinity (Comcast). They even keep prompting the viewer to download some sort of WICKED color app, and then there are the endless WICKED commercials and WICKED interviews. WICKED even was pushed during the Macys T.G. parade.

Last movie I saw was "Reagan". I bet Xfinity would rather cease operations than promote "Reagan", LOL.

I remember taking a date to see Clockwork Orange. Not a good move. She decided she needed to leave halfway through. I told her to get a cab, as I was finishing the movie. Needless to say, never saw her again.

But that's like just your opinion, man...
I get it... musical theater isn't for everyone...
But wicked is a good one.

My girlfriend just saw it and didn’t like it at all. How can a kids movie be almost 3 hrs long??? Her comments were the same as others on here.

In college my wife (then just a friend) said that her and her roommate was going to watch Lethal Weapon or Die Hard or similar. So I went over. Turns out it was a prank--they had rented Titanic instead. Decades later she still regrets it, long boring movie. Prank was on her instead!
