Huh? That is amusing. The titan is a joke. My friends father in-law is the chief mechanic at a nissan dealership (been there almost 30 years) and he said the titan is the most problematic vehicle he has ever seen. From rear ends blowing to exhaust falling off to brake problems to driveshafts. I cant remember everything but he was spewing off a long list.

How about a 5.3 colorado or Canyon? You can get the 5.3 in either one.

I agree that pickup trucks have gone "stupid-size" in recent years. The early 1990's Dakota was a perfect "mid-size" truck. The latest Dak is actually still about the same size, but they've given it macho fenders and other styling cues to make it look "butch." The problem is that FULL SIZE trucks have gone nuts. The bed lift-over height on the Tundra is asinine, and the F150, Silverado, and Ram 1500 are almost as bad. The weight of those is also asinine. Looking back at a mid-70s F150, its actually closer in overall size to the 90's Dakota than it is to a current F-150. Particularly in that bed height issue- its just nuts trying to get stuff in and out of the bed of a modern truck.

The current "small" Nissans and Toyotas (Frontier, Tacoma) have swelled so that they're almost as big as a Dakota. So has the Ranger. Where's a true *compact* truck now? I mean something the size of the original Chevy LUV/Isuzu P'UP, Mazda B2000/Ford Courier? I gotta believe there's still a market for that type of vehicle.

As far as Hyundai re-selling Rams- that makes sense. Hyundai bought Chrysler electronic transmissions for a long time (maybe still do? They still spec ATF+4 fluid), and are in the "world engine" consortium with them as well. The hooks are already there for a partnership in truck sales.

Nope, AFAIK it is SP-III, and new 6 speed Auto calls for SP-IV.
Or is SP-III re-badged ATF+4???

what is needed is a compact truck with a long bed that can do the job of a full sized truck.
