Hyundai/Kia recall over 1/4 million vehicles for fire risk... Again

The recalls cover more than 245,000 Hyundai Palisade and over 36,000 Kia Telluride SUVs from the 2020 through 2022 model years. Issue is with a board in the tow hitch wiring that can accumulate condensate and cause a short. Both automakers have stopped selling both vehicles until a fix is developed.

Right now, I think they're just pulling the fuse. You can have that done when you bring the vehicle in for oil consumption issues, so saves you a trip.

again, who is buying KIA or Hyundai is beyond me!

Quite a few. A guy was on the local news here.
He is on his THIRD Hyundai/ Kia in three years.
The first was stolen by a group of local thugs and totaled by the same thugs.
Rinse and repeat on the second.
He caught a temporary reprieve on the third. Someone spooked the thugs on the third attempt.
However, he has a decent amount of damage to repair.

Depending on reports, between 4 and 25 fires out of 300k of these vehicles sold. Factory installed tow hitch is at fault.

Our Palisade is one such vehicle. Am I concerned? Meh, not one bit.
