Why only diesels?
And the fix?? Software that detects the condition , limiting the 10spd to 5spd. You then pull over, turn it off then back on, and its back to normal? Am I reading that correctly?

Because 10 is 10% better than 9. 12 would be 20% better than 10.Thank you gm, very lovely... I love the 10 speed trash can in my 2021... I obviously love that it never stops shifting...
I wonder why gm hasn't gotten rid of 9th gear being 0.69 given that 10th is 0.64 making its existence pointless in my eyes. How is an additional ratio reduction of a meager 0.05 worthwhile to have? Gm already deleted a gear off their 9t in the new models.
Exactly. BMW 5-6 years ago said they would not venture with ZF to develop more speeds than 8, what they have now. MPG gains are meaningless.Thank you gm, very lovely... I love the 10 speed trash can in my 2021... I obviously love that it never stops shifting...

Guys complain about CVT's-in lieu of CVT's you are going to have multi speed transmissions shifting all the time. This is the world we live in until somebody comes up with a better idea.Thank you gm, very lovely... I love the 10 speed trash can in my 2021... I obviously love that it never stops shifting...

Love my GM 10S and don’t like the Jeep 8S at all …Exactly. BMW 5-6 years ago said they would not venture with ZF to develop more speeds than 8, what they have now. MPG gains are meaningless.
There is a lot about programming. I think one in JEEP is also made by Stellantis. They buy only high-torque version in RAM's from ZF I believe.Love my GM 10S and don’t like the Jeep 8S at all …
Maybe it’s just the V8 making the difference …
I got it flashed once - might need them to scan it again - too much “hunting” even with 4.10 gears …There is a lot about programming. I think one in JEEP is also made by Stellantis. They buy only high-torque version in RAM's from ZF I believe.
My GM 10L1000 and my GM 10L80 are both great transmissions and don't shift around, similar to my ZF-8. I have had no problems with any of them.Love my GM 10S and don’t like the Jeep 8S at all …

The Chevron deference was already overturned. So bring back the 4 speed automatics! This is the world we live in until somebody comes up with a better idea.

My 10 speed in my 2023 Silverado half-ton shifts very smoothly-compared to the piece of garbage 10 speed in the 2020 F150 I traded in with only 43,000 miles on it.
No issues with mine … Smoothest I ever had - hands down …Ford seems to have fixed their 10speed issues while GM seems not up to the task. This was the very same joint Ford/GM venture correct? I'm glad I have the 6R80. Doesn't hunt gears, smooth even when cold and overall pretty good transmission. I don't like how the 10hunts for gears in a friends F150 and 2 friends with SIlverado's have issues with a 2022 and 2023.
All I have witnessed, both anecdotally and personally has been the complete opposite.Ford seems to have fixed their 10speed issues while GM seems not up to the task. That is not true, the Ford HD 10 speeds have valve body issues, having said that the early 2024 10L1000 gas trucks have a similar issue.Ford seems to have fixed their 10speed issues while GM seems not up to the task. They basic development was a joint venture but thet they are very different software. Yes after AUGUST 2021 Ford fixed them- allegedly.Ford seems to have fixed their 10speed issues while GM seems not up to the task. This was the very same joint Ford/GM venture correct? Don't think so, none of ours hunt, and the one in our Durango didn't hunt, though it did have a firm shift into 2nd every time it was cold. None of the V8's have done that. I've owned 6x ZF 8HP's at this point, but only one of them was behind a gas V6. (3x GC SRT, 1x Durango 3.6L V6, 2x RAM 1500's, one gas, one diesel).I think that is JEEP thing.
