Hydro-gear is the company that makes hydrostatic transmissions used on zero-turn mowers. For sure they didn't make the filter, I wonder where they sourced it from.

I put the same back on. I am curious as to who Hydro Gear will be going with now that Champ is going away. I have one more pair of these, I'm going to service the transmissions again before mowing season.

No clue. But my Hydrogear filter was packaged Bobcat, with Bobcat part numbers.

Bob-Cat lawn mowers was purchased by Doosan........of course all the part numbers have changed.......but hydrogear is hydro gear.

Agree HydroGear is the manufacturer of hydrostat transmissions used on each side on zero turn mowers. I have similar HG transaxles. Interesting is they use 20W-50 motor oil as recommended fluid. My Ariens zero turn has the 3100 series transaxles, and first filter change was spec'd at 100 hours and then it is 500 hours thereafter.

Completed the fluid and filter change....roughly 5 qts, filled with 15w50 Mobil 1, hydrogear filters
