Even if Mobil 1 makes the oil for AC Delco that doesn't mean both sell the same oil. I'm sure they will blend your version of dexos D aswell, if you pay for it.

I have pinged @High Performance Lubricants 4 days back asking if Dexos D 5w30 is orderable but no response yet. Does anyone know if David is still communicating on BITOG, he used to be active and approachable from my reading.

Does HPL do BF sale? I am liking their 5w30 DexosD so far but there is not a thing different about it subjectively when compared to Mobil 1 X2 or ACDelco DexosD 0w20 blends. I do not hear any difference in sound, same sounds on cold starts and during normal operations. Too early to tell on the burn off I only put 1,100 miles on the HPL fill.

So far so good. It's a complex vehicle so I hope it holds up the way my much simpler Durango did.

My update on 5w30 Dexos D blend from HPL. 5.1K miles. I decided not to do the oil analysis... reason is that I saw zero change in oil consumption vs. Mobil 1 ESP X2 0w-20. In fact slightly more burn with HPL but probably due to weather, temps, speed. I am sure it is great oil, just not solving my problem. My burn off is tolerable and I was hoping that HPL in 5w30 Dexos D will stop it but will just proceed with ESP X2 in 0w-20.
I think it's a good idea to switch to 5-30.
I used HPL 5w30 Dexos D on the last fill and saw zero change in consumption vs. Mobil 1 Extended PerformanceS X2 0w-20.
Was it your first run? Might need some time to do the cleaning, if you have stuck rings.
