HPL Black Friday 2024

Same here. Except I jumped and ordered two boxes to catch the sale. I should have checked my oil locker first! :rolleyes:Oh well, I can start using it in our other car too now. I can hear wife now. What on earth (auto products) did you put on the credit card this time!? Even though I pay it off before we even get the bill.
:whistle:She is really gonna blow when she sees I just got two more automotive magazines full of products in the mail today
This has been a rough month CC wise. 3 new tablets (1 Samsung Tab S10+ and 2 11" iPad Airs), 2 bottles of scotch direct from the distillery and 5 bottles of bourbon plus all the other monthly expenses that go along with being alive. And I still have 13 more days to go before the cycle ends. Thank god we have separate accounts!!!!!!!

Its that time of year! From now till the New Year. Many of us will be spending ourselves wild. Food/drinks/gifts and on and on! Merchants will be smiling.... Seems like near everything almost twice the cost this time last year.

You just reminded me I have not ordered the gifts I usually send up to my oldest son & wife in Tennessee. I do not drink (much):sneaky:anymore , but he certainly took after me. He and wife (she born & raised in Tenn whiskey country) are specialty bourbon & whiskey lovers.

They live very close in area to several historical distilleries. My son and I are also long time charter members , "Tenn Squires" they call it, of the Jack Daniels Distillery Club. For years we been seeking out rare whiskey/scotch etc... to send each other for holidays etc..... The whiskey industry has exploded the last 10 to 15 years. Lots of other spirits also, with new and insane priced brands & products popping up all over the USA , Mexico and other places across the globe. Canada too I hear. There is supposed to be a giant new craft distillery coming on line soon to the Calgary area that I hear already has many small "batch type" brewers in that area.

Oh yeah, this time of year the bank cards and wallets tend to get lots of use! We have never had seperate accounts in 47 years together. We don't fight over money much at all, anymore. Must be getting mellow in our older years. As one gets older its harder to even care to argue! :unsure:Probably because now we both enjoy spending mostly on the sons and the grandkids rather than on ourselves?

6 Quarts of CK-4 10W-40 purchased for my Riding Mower, thanks HPL

I plan on doubling my OCI from 50 Hours to 100 Hours!

I called in to Mary Jane earlier this morning and got a custom mix quantity order in, although i did ask her some questions about their CVT fluids since the website lacked an updated data sheet which unfortunately i had to pass on since she doesnt handle technical questions about oil specifications.

Very nice lady on the phone I have to say, was expecting to deal with a automated phone system which is a good fresh air for a change.

Curious, what CVT fluid questions do you have?

I asked her if she knows what OEM specifications their CVT fluid meets since the website is lacking that information because the current PDF product sheet does not have any information at their web store.

I originally was gonna order 12 quarts of it to replace the Honda HCF2 thats in the family Honda but without any info of OEM compatibility list like they have for the other ATF fluids i had to pass.

Sent a message to David Ward a few days ago, havent heard back.

Definitely a fair concern! I’m switching over to HPL from Amsoil in my TR580 cvt after 80k great miles. I’m at the point that I’m quite trusting of HPL to deliver fluids that work after watching them on here for the last year and a half.

Yeah which is why i pass on it until i see a product data sheet. Pretty sure it may work fine but i cant just flush in new CVT fluid without knowing its compatible with the OEM im replacing.

Its not so critical for to replace it now since the vehicle is roughly 38000 miles new. Its just in Honda circles its known that the OEM CVT stuff is absolutely doo doo in terms of longevity which is why they have short drain intervals of 20 to 30k.

Yeah that goes along with Subarus “filled for life” crazy talk. I’m treating my cvt the best I can because I can’t afford not too! Hopefully you will find a good fluid for your beast.

Have you run any HPL oil or what is being currently run. Myself I’d go with the PP 0W30
HPL is some fine stuff. I started out with their PP-0w20 and then switched to a mix of 0w20+0w30 due to our car's oil/fuel dilution that mostly only happens with colder weather. I am certain it never goes away completely , just less noticable in hot weather. I put some 0w30 in with 0w20 to keep it a bit more stout during the oci due to the fuel dilution. Seems to work fine and engine runs nice and quiet.

Sammy,

Why not just run their 0w-30 exclusively instead of mixing?

I am heading that way. I just started out with 0w20 and since it is spec for both cars I had plenty on hand. Plus I wanted to ease into it and see how it ran and sounded with that tiny high speed turbo those engines come with. It will be all 0w30 soon. Very satisfied with all HPL offers.
