How to find the best price on new vehicle?

I got another $1000 conquest cash off my new Accord... thanks to Mitsubishi... got a great deal and 4.49 % interest
Is that thing still tolerable? My HS buddy got one. Spent a 1/2 hour in it. Seemed about the same Vanilla as most vanillas. Yawn. He was going on and on about the zippy hybrid E motor. Now he is looking at a used Subaru Legacy with the flat 6 😲

Regardles you and I know good seats and overall comfort are worth a king's ransom. Add in 40 mpg = WIN

Why is that uncommon? Maybe my body is uncommon, LOL

The seats are great and over 1700 miles I am averaging 57.8 mpg without trying.... it's all on my new vehicles thread

Yeah when your serious it shows

Or not. Like I said in the first post, True Car used to provide real deal, good, pricing. When the price was good enough, I bought. Kind of like using Slick Deals. A good deal pushed up the priority level of the purchase. I'm not desperate for a car, but I want one. Big difference.

Yeah I get it... you have to watch credit unions who offer True Car.
If you compare you may see the credit union price is $800 more..
True Car isn't great for hot items like Maverick hybrids etc....

I got an absolute steal on some Subarus with a few dealers on True Car but went with Honda instead.
I did not use True Car for the Honda as they were willing to deep discount certain vehicles

Those may have been good deals.

They were most certainly not the best deals. You have to work a lot harder then swiping on an app to get those.

If you want a good deal with little effort the Costco recommendation isn't a bad one.

I paid $22k out the door for my 2017 EX-T. That, was a good deal. And so easy. Those deals are over, it seems, now, though.

You could get $6k(30%) off a 2024 new Mirage in Florida, if you are in the military and trade in your old Mitsubishi!
But it seems deals like this are very rare now. Locally, have a look who has lots of inventory and especially 2024 models as they will want to get those sold first.
Unhaggle.com gives you invoice prices in exchange for your contact info... In 2018 I was able to get our Outback at "invoice" or about $2500 off of MSRP using a similar site.
I went onto autotrader.com and searched new vehicles by year and found these 2022 new QX50's. I wonder what the story is, but I'm sure they will sell them for less than a 2025.

I always look at prices mentioned on forums for the vehicle in question, as well sites such as cars.com, Auto Trader, etc going through the mileage radii, as well as nationwide to get an array of prices. Then I work the e-mail and get OTD prices. When I narrow it down, I'll then follow up by phone, and if all goes well make arrangements to view and/or pick up.
Yeah this was me in 2021-- people were ecstatic to be getting Prius Primes for $18k after all the incentives. So I got on truecar and made it happen locally for myself at a high volume dealer. Truecar is, of course, a "lead generation" service-- you WILL get hounded if you use it.

People (men) think they have to go in and fight the dealer-- the dealer already knows what they'll sell it for; they just put on a show for the sucker customer so he thinks he won. You just have to time the market. It's not a great time right now unless you're buying something really terrible (Stellantis, Nissan...)

In short, I'm a fan of the nailed-down, newspaper-ad come-on special. Call the dealer from the parking lot, ask if it's for sale, get the salesman's name, then say, great, I'm here, let's do this.
