100% correct, and engines were being built in the 90's (ZR-1 Corvettes,
lots of really hot 5.0's, etc etc.) that did JUST FINE with these oils.
SN oil is NOT necessarily "Better than SJ, just because it's "newer".

No, it has not. The 4.6 liter SOHC in my 2008 F150 is really pretty much unchanged since the engine was introduced in 1993 or so. There is need to "fear" an older oil if the additive package is a good one.
