How old is this oil?

I find this thread funny. The oil was considered "fine" back in 2001 or whatever year it is from. The ICE has not changed that much....has it?

Your from Virginia, so I am sure your aware that the Super-G oil is from the Giant Supermarkets chain. No idea who provided the original product, but given Giants good reputation back then, I am sure it meets the labels specs. I would feel fine using it on an older car or lawn mower.

100% correct, and engines were being built in the 90's (ZR-1 Corvettes,
lots of really hot 5.0's, etc etc.) that did JUST FINE with these oils.

SN oil is NOT necessarily "Better than SJ, just because it's "newer".

No, it has not. The 4.6 liter SOHC in my 2008 F150 is really pretty much unchanged since the engine was introduced in 1993 or so. There is need to "fear" an older oil if the additive package is a good one.
