How much would a car in this condition be worth?

The price you'll get is on the trunk...Lol.

Any pics of it? If it's not completely rusted out, I could see someone fixing it up and selling for 3-4 grand. There's a few dealers near me that specialize in that type of vehicle. Vehicles, that in decent condition, would be pretty respectable, but they get high mileage ones in worse condition and pride that they're selling a "nicer" vehicle for less than the competition. I.E. take a 2005 Range Rover...one with 70k miles and nice shape would go for 18k (for example). The type of dealer I'm talking about would find one with 200k miles and in worse condition, slick it up and sell it for $10k and boast we can get you into a 2005 Range Rover for $10k. Most buyers wouldn't tune into those differences between the two. That's the buyer you need, someone that intends to do exactly that. I think scrapping it is a waste, unless it's severely rusted and once new bumper skins are on, it wouldn't look good from 20ft away.

People automatically assume that if you sell a junker you're selling it to a poor bugger who doesn't know anything about cars. In reality, It could be a guy who plans on using it for parts, or it could be somebody who plans to flip it.

I agree because I buy cars like this all the time and flip them. It's easy money for me because I have the tools and knowledge to fix modern cars. I would buy it from you if you were local, fix the body work and check engine light and sell it. Obviously it would depend on what's wrong with it to determine if I could fix it and make a profit.

I'd scrap it or donate it. You're not going to get much more than scrap value for it and its going to be a pain in the butt to sell, and you may have to deal with complaints afterwards even if you disclose everything and make it clear its "as is". Would flippers really be interested in something this far gone? I can't imagine that fixing everything to make it sellable at a decent price would leave any room for profit or even break even. Engine, transmission, suspension, and body problems.

+1 for the above comment. I was going to say that my local junkyards are paying $80 for a complete car right now.

It's a 2006 Ford Five Hundred SEL FWD with 276,000 miles moonroof, leather. It runs and drives but has a bad vavle body and shifts really hard and sometimes can't find the right gear. It has body damage to the left front which is bashed in bad enough to bend the hood and left front panel and take out the headlight and half the rear plastic bumper is also missing. The circuit that is the power windows and radio went bad and doesn't work. It also needs some tie rod ends, its missing a gas cap and has a recent CEL. I did however drive it all the way from Detroit to Kansas City and back in this condition multiple times without it breaking down on me.

Any thoughts on what I should list it for?

It would be a good candidate for a demo derby car!!
