What do they get to see???
 
It sounds very high tech, but actually may be a simple tool. Any metallic particulate matter would show up very clearly. It would allow a very quick turn around time for analysis. They could do it on the spot, like a dentist.
 
Is their any more detail to their technique? In my lab I use X-rays to analyze contaminants in lubricants. The way I do it, it's more of an art than a set procedure. I have many satisfied customers.
