How many folks still use cash?

I don't buy much, and much of what I purchase is food and gas. Gas goes on the CC and food goes on a special card. In the month of April, I spent $41.00 using cash. In March I spent $23.00.

We like using cash for purchases under $25, it helps when my wife looks through credit card statements for fraudulent purchases, as she takes care of our finances. Large purchases on credit card statements stand out all by themselves; works for us.

I use cash a lot, mostly for food and other small purchases. For anything bigger I use a credit card. I refuse to even possess a debit card. I don’t want someone to be able to empty out my bank account if I should happen to lose it.

I don’t but oddly my 17 year old daughter does who gets paid $7-15/hr of her part time job in cash unreported tips people leave at health food/smoothie shop.

The balance of her base pay is on the books.

I always try to keep about $120 on me. I wouldn't want to get robbed at gunpoint and have no cash on me and get shot.
I have a CCW but rarely carry and wouldn't pull my gun when the robber won the element of surprise contest and end up getting shot.

I prefer to use a credit card but there are times I use cash like at the farmers market, local events, going to the fairgrounds to pay for parking, to get in and for food.

It’s scary I am afraid of misplacing it.

The only place I use it is when my son and I go to the local barber. It’s $27 now so we can burn a $100 bill in 2 mos. I want a record of our spending and cash rewards, so Cc makes sense. We dont carry a balance.

I recently dropped $60 on the floor in a restaurant and unfortunately someone snagged it. In less than 3 minutes downtown. The only reason I took the cash out is they charge 3% for credit. Any idea where that was? Next time credit all the wat

I rather liked the old "no credit cards under $15" signs. I know they all went to $10.....if they still care to have the sign.

How many retailers do you see which have a sign like, "ApplePay, AndroidPay, CloverPay preferred?

John: If you drop money Sonny.....

I get cash out occasionally for lottery tickets, or when I know I have a dinner with friends coming up. I believe there are two 20s in my wallet now left over from my November 2022 trip to see my parents in Florida. Nice to have them if I need them, but I haven't needed them. Cash back credit card sees all the action.
