How long can I go on dirty used oil?

We change all the tractors every two years at least, even if they don't run much (HDEO). That's a bunch of used mixed oils. We throw that in the beaters, or offer it to the field hands for their "comute" cars

Old oil is not always bad oil. Sometimes it's just dark ...

This engine has the worst blow by you could imagine. Most of the oil is vaporized out the dipstick tube and PCV lines.

OK, for bad blow-by you might try freeing the rings. Pull the plugs and shoot a healthy shot of Break Free gun solvent into the top of the cylinders. Re-install plugs. DO NOT start it. Let sit overnight or longer if you can (weekend?).

Since it has massive oil consumption, anything that might leak down into the crankcase will be gone it an hour and another qt of oil

Should help if there is any life left in the rings at all ...

Anything worth having is worth taking care of. It has been my experience that employees who drove beat up old oil burners were also employees who arrived at work every morning looking like they had just closed the local honky tonk, had no incentive, no initiative and nothing to offer the company but grief..

Yeah, but in this case I think its the boss's truck

Step 1 - Find someone who lives near you who likes to get their oil changed at 3000-5000 mile intervals.

Step 2 - Work out a deal with them, wherein they supply the oil & filter, or pay for the oil & filter if you pick it up for them.

Step 3 - Change their oil, draining their old oil into a nice clean container (maybe with an in-line cheap filter, like an old t-shirt or similar, and then use that oil in your truck.

They get a reliable oil change, and you get free used oil to run in your truck.

For sure! Over the years I never really heard many complaints about that engine. It was regarded by many as one of the best I6 engines ever made.

Ive seen a guy driving 1 mile a day to work in Montana winters turn Amsoil into a tan jello mold, in oil pan, rocker cover and side cover. You literally had to scoop it out of the pan by hand. The motor sounded like a thrashing machine but still ran once cleaned out. Rocker arms & pushrods were burnt up & changed. It was a 300 ford 6 F150. He asked me what to buy next and I told him a for sale sign
