It seems you've not driven a Toyota in in a while?

The Prius now has 4-wheel independent suspension and disc brakes all around. Its new revised chassis is rigged as many sportscars. It is not a fast car, but no one can say it does not handle well, or is boring.

Just because it has 4 wheel independent suspension and 4 wheel disk brakes doesn't automatically make it a fun car to drive. I'm also not the target demographic for the Prius either... I'll never own another car that takes about 10 seconds to go 0-60.

Oh, it's boring. The Ford Escort had 4-wheel independent suspension and disc brakes all around, in 1991. Are we setting the bar that low? The Prius is not designed to be inspiring, it's a toaster, and fulfills that role quite well.

Actually the 2019 Prius is a lot of fun to drive. The term fun is very subjective. It handles very well...Prius has come a long, long way, and no longer is it's low gas-sipping behavior a reason to buy one...hybrids and high MPG aside, its actually a fun car to drive, to drive in twisties...but no, its not a race car, nor a sports car....test drive one soon....you'll be surprised.

You're Fools? No, not at all.

You're Climate change deniers? Perhaps.

You're Driven for the best quality products? Nope.

Climate change denier? You do realize that the climate has been changing before man has walked this Earth right? This world started from nothing and will end to become nothing.

You oversimplify. Yes, the climate has always been changing, agreed. But the climate is ABRUPTLY changing....its the ABRUPTLY part. From the industrial age to current times, the changes are off the charts. I would suggest you read the scientific data and like 99% of all scientists (of all political parties, and of all faiths) you too will see its not a scam.

Do you have a PhD after your last name? That 99% number you toss out there is a hoax unto itself. Pinwheels and sunshine are not the answer. What happens to those Prius batteries in 20 years?

I agree. But handling=/=ride, my minivan rides down the road very nice, but I wouldn't say it is great handling. I'm not saying they're bad cars, quite the opposite. But the Prius was never geared towards or meant for having fun on twisty roads, it's for people who just want to go from A to B reliably while using a tiny amount of gas. Like Overkill said, it's a toaster and does it's job very well. I'd rather have a Corolla Hatchback with a manual over a Prius.

I guess we will all know the answer in eight years.

I'd rather drive an Escort GT. Peppy DOHC engine, 5-speed manual, decent chassis setup, and an interior built like a CAR instead of something designed after watching TRON after a 48-hour marathon of Red Bull and vodka.

I don't know what year model it was. But i got a prius as a rental car a year or so ago in florida. Horrible driving car. Bad visibility, road noise, very poor ride. It was very annoying. I'll not accept another as a rental. I'll go bigger if i have to.

I still can't get over OP bragging that his car with less than 100k doesn't use oil, meanwhile it's an engine known to burn oil! Hardly the hallmark of quality worth starting a thread over.

Profile much? I know someone who started a lawn service in his teens. He is worth millions now.

Agreed. I just got past 100k in my Escape and except for a leaky sunroof that I fixed by gooping clear silicone around the sunroof and removing the fuse so nobody tries to open it I have not had any repairs beyond regular maintenance. That does not mean all Ford vehicles are great and all others suck!!

You do have to appreciate the fact that many Toyota owners live in some parallel universe.

Well at least they did not send letter to owners like Toyota stating that their transmission will be jerky and might have rough shifting throughout lifespan of it, but there is nothing to worry about.

No, but I read books and whitepapers written by scientists. Where do you get your data? Fox News? Hybrid batteries are RECYCLABLE. Putting one's head in the sand, and denying the opinions of 99.9% of scientists is not the answer.
